Mentalist rant
so u guys should know that in german you can talk to a person in two ways. there’s a polite form which is called the “Sie-Form” and the “Du- Form” The second one you use when you talk to people you like and who are your friends. The first one you use when talking to your boss or a person you hardly know.
So in the german synchronization of the Mentalist Jane and Lisbon have always used the first, very formal form which, to me, was not appropriate and I always got super mad about it.
but now (they just started airing season 7 here) THEY FINALLY TALK LIKE THEY ARE FRIENDS I dont know whether to be mad that they do it only now or to be happy that they finally use it idk.
I was so irritated by Jane using du in the plane scene 😂 but I have to admit it felt more romantic in german (as german is my native language) even though I could talk with him in English the entire monologue. So I'm really happy for them becoming friends in our language ❤️
