Yes!!! Josh totally talked about this scene in an interview and we all cried about it!!! I actually remember where I was when we heard this interview and a bunch of people text me because this WAS A BIG DEAL!
We assume canon-wise Peeta followed her and was burnt saving her from the flames but it's not explicit in the book, but implied like so many other things that happen.
They save each other.
