And THIS is why lace was a worn primarily by royalty and aristocracy for so many centuries.. It was expensive and time-consuming to produce. Wearing it, and wearing LOTS of it was a blatant show of wealth and excessive consumption.
Mechanically-produced lace wasn’t really a thing until well into the 20th century, but there remains a wide gap between the quality of mass-produced and hand crafted

This relates to my interests as I learned that cheingora is the name of “dog hair” yarn just a few days ago. It looks so soft!
I'm still feeling extra salty about how September 11th is being treated like a damn holiday. I will remember it. I will remember how I was seven and everyone was upset but I didn't understand until long after. But here we are 17 years later and it's less a day of mourning or remembrance and rather a day when I see people looking for an excuse to be patriotic. And even with that I truly mean having a pizza party. Or drinking. Or hating on people that had nothing to do with it like a sport.
I am so angry September 10th to 20th because I know it's something I hardly understood but figured out wasnt good and worth eating pizza. Who the fuck has a pizza party on a Tuesday and calls it "Patriot Day Pizza" like a game?

So, it pinned me over by Michigan. Like hardcore around the great lakes but I was born and raised in Arizona and haven't ever been East of Colorado.
HOWEVER, I'm constantly getting asked if I'm from more eastern states. Sometimes Michigan is one (followed by Indiana and Kansas for some reason?). So I believe this test got me wrong but it placed me on dialect akin to how strangers I've met did from experience.
