Back from hiatus
Happy new year guys! Wow, can't believe I haven't been on here since October. Been super busy with traveling for rotations and interviews and with life in general, I guess. What a year though filled with big challenges, tons of adventure, and firsts! Assisted in my first of many open heart surgeries. Competed in my first weightlifting meet. Completed my first marathon. Went to CA for the first time. Also had a good number of first dates that made for some interesting and funny stories lol. I'm also happy that I've accepted, loved, and opened myself more this past year 😊
Instead of yelling BOO this Halloween, yell something even scarier, like COMMITMENT or STUDENT LOANS
Thanks, Tastefully Offensive! Have a safe and happy Halloween everyone!!

How to build a human!
Eleanor Lutz is a designer with a molecular biology degree and she made this amazing science infographic about embryogenesis.
Embryogenesis is the process by which the embryo forms and develops. It starts with the fertilization of the egg cell (ovum) by a sperm cell, (spermatozoon). Once fertilized, the ovum is referred to as a zygote, a single diploid cell. The zygote undergoes mitotic divisions with no significant growth (a process known as cleavage) and cellular differentiation, leading to development of a multicellular embryo.
