So this is it… My last day on Tumblr.
I’ve been thinking for a while about how to write this. It’s not that I think me leaving is a big deal, because I don’t. I know a lot of you probably won’t even notice I’m gone. It’s more that I can’t quite find the words to thank you all. I have loved chatting to you, getting to know you, and discussing everything with you; from Zalfie and the sex blog, to kettles and my daily boy troubles, it’s been perfect. You’ve all been a constant source of entertainment to me, but you’ve also been so much more than that. You’ve been there for me when I need to talk without being judged, you were there during my break up(s!) with Josh and during the drama of the work boys I kept getting into trouble with.. Although I have received countless messages from people thanking me for helping them through a tough time in some way, I don’t think most of you realise, I feel just as thankful towards you.
I know not everyone sends me messages, and even fewer of you send them off anon, but I am so grateful for every single person who has followed my silly little blog. And even more grateful to those who have interacted with me, because without you, this blog would be nothing! I’ll always have fond memories of conversations with anons. Who can forget sausage anon, strawberry lace anon, nosey anon, creepy anon and all the others?! I’ve been so lucky to have the funniest, wittiest, most highly amusing bunch of followers.
Although 99% of you never messaged me off anon, there are a few people who I have either spoken to or who have had some sort of impact on my Tumblr, which they may not even know about. And maybe this is the time to tell them…
Firstly, @schmalf. My wifey. My Skype buddy (that 12 hour convo though). And one of my closest internet friends. The only thing I would change about my friendship with you, is the fact you live in bloody New Zealand. Timezones are officially my worst enemy. You have been there for me from the very start, you’ve always had my back, and no matter if we went through phases of barely talking for a few weeks, when we did talk again, it was like nothing had changed. I love you so much and this is certainly not the end of our friendship. Brush 5eva.
@tripodsandmarshmallows - Although we have had our ups and downs, you really are a great friend. You may be mean to me on occasion, but I know you do truly care. I’ve loved all (most) of our chats and I’m sure we’ll stay in contact and remain close friends. If you don’t ignore my messages of course… Love you!
@fabzoella - Thank you for being my number one fan ;) haha. Though I know you have to share that title with Noor! I’ve loved getting to know you and I know we don’t often communicate on Tumblr, but I see you lurking… Liking all my posts. Often in my “biggest fans” section! Again, we will stay in contact, keep on snapping me, girl!
@troyesfranta - Lauren, you are one of the first friends I made on Tumblr. I am not only such a fan of your writing (though I’ll never forgive you for Dear Zoe!), I am a massive fan of YOU. You are so sweet and I know you’re always there for me, even if we don’t speak often. You truly deserve to be happy. Stay in contact please?!
@zalfie24-7 - The secret friend. The one who people don’t know I talked to like every day for months! It’s strange because we have talked so many times, but I know absolutely nothing about you. Except that you are American. And know everything. Should we tell them who you really are? Naaaahhh, let’s leave them guessing ;)
Some of my other favourite blogs, even though I’m not writing a paragraph about you, just know that you lot have brightened up my dash, or impacted on my Tumblr in some way, even if we don’t talk. Love you!
