Just finished the last episode of Mr. Robot…to say I’m disappointed by the finale, the underwhelming payoff, and the “plot twist” that four seasons of this show amounted to would be a severe understatement

And I maintain my stance that this show had some of the worst pacing I’ve ever seen in a tv show

Having your main character get kidnapped and then escape just before they die is not interesting or suspenseful when it happens 3x per season…

I'm on season 3, episode 2 of The L Word and I still can't stand Jenny. I know I'm supposed to like her, but she makes no sense to me as a character. All of the other women have clear motivations and well-rounded personalities and Jenny just...doesn't

Of course, it doesn't help that the actress playing her only has two facial expressions and for some reason whispers all of her lines?

I'm halfway through the show, so I should definitely feel something other than apathy for her, but I don't. It's bad enough that I'm constantly tempted to skip past her scenes

I saw you like sapphic historical fiction (such as Dickinson) and Taylor Swift and I've just gotta ask you: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's an alternate history novel abt the 1st woman president and her secret sapphic relationship/bearded marriage with her mlm best friend and has massive Taylor Swift vibes (especially anti hero, last great American dynasty, gold rush, illicit affairs, I Did Something Bad, and champagne problems). It also has a subplot about arson at the White House and ft. An entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters!

Hiiii! I haven’t heard of it but that sounds incredible! It sounds right up my alley so I’m definitely going to give it a read! I checked your page out and saw you’re looking for people to talk about this book with, so once I’ve read it, I’d love to chat with you about it!

Thank you for letting me know this book exists! I’d love any additional recommendations you have as well—I’m always looking for more sapphic novels to read!

The popularity of Wednesday has been a really interesting thing to witness because I’ve never seen so many people disagree over a character’s arc before and all of it seems to come from identifying with Wednesday in some ways but not in others and being upset about it.

I understand that many people who don’t often see themselves represented in media are finding likeness with her, and that is incredibly special, but she is not you. She is a character, so while you may relate strongly to 90% of her arc, it doesn’t mean the other 10% was disingenuous or out of character just because it’s not something you would have done.

I just had to google “is Tim burton homophobic” because Wednesday has a MASSIVE cast, all of them Gen z, and you mean to tell me NOT ONE OF THEM IS QUEER? Fuck Netflix
