The most obnoxious thing about the whole veganism debate is the inability from both sides to admit that the other side does have a point. The animal agriculture industry does treat animals like shit. the vegan lifestyle exploits the fuck out of workers. What yall need to accept is there is no ethical way to eat and you’re not better than anyone else for eating or not eating meat. Have you seen the world we live in lol
This is a weak ass argument. Let me start by saying being vegan doesn’t automatically make you ethical as mentioned above vegans can easily exploit workers but guess what, people who are not vegan are eating the same produce. People who eat animals are fueling much more exploitation not only are they exploiting workers who grow the produce they consume, but also those who grow the food for their food, which by the way is the major source of unsustainable soy and corn production, not tofu. They are also exploiting slaughter houses workers and the neighborhoods surrounding. These places target low income areas to place their slaughter houses that bring pollution. There are high rates of ptsd among slaughterhouse workers who are forced into these jobs as there is not much else job opportunity and they are paid little. Veganism is pointless without advocating for workers rights and food accessibility as well but ops post is an absolute false comparison. It is a total cop out to say since veganism isn’t flawless you might as well exploit more. Ultimately the argument is “I can either exploit workers in one industry or I can exploit twice as many workers in 4 different industries.” Neither is a good choice no one deserves to be exploited but one creates an obvious amount of less harm. We all need to hold ourselves accountable to create less harm and be realistic about such. Being vegan is not always accessible or possible for some people and it is not my place to force food choices on any one but this narrative of “there is not ethical consumption under capitalism” is meant to keep us aware of and active towards ending exploitation, not as an excuse to keep on exploiting.
that post was right i wouldn’t have a sense of humor without spongebob. its still some of the goddamn funniest shit i’ve ever seen. spongebob almost dying because he’s too polite to ask for a glass of water at sandy’s house. mr. krabs and spongebob killing the health inspector. smittywerbenjagermenjensen. “I was born with glass bones and paper skin. every morning I break my legs. and every afternoon I break my arms.” the perfume department on the flying dutchman’s boat. that time spongebob cleared his mind to be a fine dining waiter and forgot his own name because that’s how customer service just BE. the ugly barnacle that was so ugly everyone DIED. the END. the one where squidward buys a pie but it’s actually a bomb. and the MUSICAL numbers like??? the fun song. the christmas song. tony award winning song “this grill is not a grill”. the entire band geeks episode like…this is all from the top of my head!!!!! just from the top of my head!!! there’s so much more!!! thank god for stephen and all the laughs i’ve had because of him.

paul hollywood on bakeoff: now, i can see you’ve had a little trouble with your genoise sponge, haven’t you? the egg whites haven’t been whipped for quite long enough, and it’s lost some of that delicate, airy consistency, which means that your 10,000 spun sugar decorations haven’t got the solid foundation that they really need to support the handcrafted marzipan statue of the virgin mary that you’ve painted with edible gold leaf
me, shoving handfuls of reheated takeout pizza into my gaping maw: a rookie mistake
i think my saddest moment as an Australian was finding out that the rest of the world doesn’t say “never eat soggy weetbix” to figure out the order of the compass
Put in the tags where you’re from and how you memorized the order of the compass
bro why cranberry juice go so hard smh
i think everybody’s biggest regret is being like 5 when emo was popular
Nothing ever made me feel old like this post just did
