just thought i’d let you all know, i have decided to archive cal for reasons i will not explain. i am keeping all of his relationships, like with @asoulofstars, @ithilys & @crownedfatality, @ironxsilvcr, just i needed a clean slate. the only thing i will NOT be carrying over of course is meme’s in my ask bc i can’t do that.

it’s been a while since i’ve read GS, in fact i have not picked it up since i read it in february, & i like to believe that i have an EXCELLENT memory of what i read bc well, i do and i do not remember cal saying he loves her. perhaps he implied it??? but no where did he say “I love you.”
it’s funny how people forget about you when they don’t need you anymore or found someone better.

well my cal yes, but if we’re talking canon.... i don’t believe he totally & completely loves her. at least not like his father loved his mother. i mean i get people can fall in love fast but they’ve only known each other for i want to say two to four months?? what i think at first it began as an attraction. he is intrigued by her and most likely feels bad because if he never thought of getting her a job at the palace, she wouldn’t have to pretend to be someone she’s not & his family wouldn’t have to tread water. his brother would have a chance to marry whoever he wanted. he starts to have a little crush on her, like taking her on his motorcycle to see her family (though that was due to maven because he gave the idea) or the dance lessons like pls cal, don’t use evangeline as an excuse we both know you wanted time alone. & then kissing her because he has the guts to go after his brother’s betrothed. (also pls don’t tell me he did this to hurt maven, like we all know it’s very rare love is involved in royal relationships in the series, like i doubt cal + evan loved each other & i’m sure it would have been a while for mare + maven... who was using mare. i mean cal should have stayed in his lane bc he doesn’t need to start the drama) i think he kissed her because he was curious as to what she would do & she kissed him back so hey maybe she has a little thing for him too which we all know she does. like u can’t lie mare.
i’m not going to get into the mess that is his feelings in glass sword. so to sum this up no, canonically i do not believe cal loves mare. at least not yet.
