Okay, dollblr, I need your help

My friend's doll collection was stolen on May 19th by his shitty landlord. Charges have been filed, but the landlord and the moving company he used to transport the dolls and other stolen property have been uncooperative in giving the information needed to trace and recover the dolls.

I'm asking that this post be shared as far and wide as possible so he has some hope of getting his most beloved and distinctive dolls back.

If anyone sees a massive dump of Ringdolls and Dollfie Dreams on Mercari, eBay, or Facebook, especially in/around/from the Louisville, KY area, please contact me so I can let him know.

I will update as we assess the full extent of the loss, but the dolls we're asking people to keep an eye out for at the moment are

Any dolls that appear in a large group with these should be reported.

I will update tomorrow with more specifics on the missing Ringdolls and DD/DD mods when we've had a chance to sit down and assess the extent of the theft.

Thank y'all in advance for any help, he's gutted over this and I am on his behalf. Still in shock that there are people this vile in the world.

Is there any professional insect scientist out there that can explain to me why my beloved Praying Mantis, Pepper, seems to demonstrate specific person-recognition and has, during her adult life in particular, always seemed eager to come into my hand. When she was younger, I did handle her, but she was very active, often crawling all over me like a tree. Then later on, she seemed content to ride around on me all over the house. And now, at the end times, my husband texted me to say that she was dead (he’s sad too). So I arrive at home and I come to the terrarium to her, and she suddenly starts struggling to move. She’s definitely in the end times, but…she’s still alive! So, I get the little wash cloth out that I had put in there to keep her comfortable since she stopped being able to cling two days ago. She starts clearly trying to crawl. But its a terrible struggle. So I put my palm down beside her, she turns her whole body and with practically everything she’s got left in her little insect body, she crawls into my hand. Then she got still again. What’s going on here? Because…to me…this insect /likes me/. I’m willing to believe that an insect brain cannot sophisticatedly love, and that they operate on instinct, but I’m just seeing plenty of indicators that maybe its not so simple as that? 

this is not the first evidence, either. When I went away on a trip, my husband did all the right and proper things for her, and yet, when I came home and sat down at the desk, she crawled over to the corner and STARED at me for hours. 

We never hand-fed her, really. A couple of times with the tongs. But mostly, we’ve let her catch her own prey, so its not that she associates me with food. 

A couple people have tagged me in this, and I don’t really have any useful insight! I’ve only recently gotten a pet mantis, and he’s still very young and has never interacted with any people other than me, so I can’t say if he’s got any sort of preference. He has threat displayed at me and willingly walked onto my hand at different times.

I suppose it’s possible they could learn to recognize their owner and not associate them with any sort of threat, but then any wild mantis I’ve ever met didn’t seem inclined to flee from people either. They’ve walked willingly onto my hand and they’ve never met me before.

Either way, I wouldn’t describe their behavior with human terms like like or love, no matter how tempting it is to do with a pet. That’s just not how inverts work!

noticed this in the notes ^ they had him wearing this full armour in avengers when he was hulk-smashed, and subsequently apprehended by the avengers. (helmet missing due to apparently losing it when hawkeye’s arrow exploded in his hand.)

in endgame, he was still wearing it - hadn’t left stark tower yet, was still in the process of being escorted from the building…

i agree that at the end of avengers, he’s wearing his ‘lite’ leather armour… i assume he changes it using his seidr in a similar fashion to when he’s captured in stuttgart.

(after all he changes back and forth between these two versions of his armour a couple of times in the original avengers movie. it’s obviously not difficult for him.)

so, in between being escorted through the foyer of stark tower, and walking out into the park to go to the bifrost, the armour changes off-camera.

since in endgame, LOKI takes the tesseract while still in stark tower and still wearing this full battle armour (minus the helmet which was dropped when hawkeye’s arrow exploded) and drops into the series like that… of course he’s wearing it still. he never made it out to the bifrost departure point. so we can assume without having to accept a plothole, that he just hadn’t changed it yet.

the thing that never won’t annoy me is how he got a fucking haircut in between escaping with the tesseract and dropping into the desert sands in mongolia. i mean, he went straight there. there’s no significant elapsed time between those two scenes… he still had the chains on ffs. seriously marvel… your continuity sucks.

Anyone with any sort of curly hair though…could tell you that any rapid changes in moisture are perfectly capable of essentially giving you a new hairstyle at a moment’s notice. It’s not a plot hole…it just confirms what we have always suspected: tesseract space travel is moist.

ALSO, he came out as bisexual/‘not interested in labels’ like a decade ago, but much more recently he came out as gay, so he’s gay! his latest album, No Place In Heaven, is almost completely about being gay. it’s got a song abt his sexuality and his religion, a song abt pining for your straight best friend, a song abt the music world that includes the lyrics “where have all the gay guys gone?”, a song abt gay and lesbian solidarity, a song abt heterosexual expectations from family, and two songs that are just abt being super ridiculously in love w your partner.

please listen to Mika’s entire discography because there are a LOT of classics that i’m 100% sure you’ve heard at some point in your life, all the love songs are implicitly gay, it’s great, but ESPECIALLY listen to No Place In Heaven (2015).

it always surprises me to remember that mika isn’t actually a part of the global populace’s general consciousness

I’d like to say that in SC, there is a cloister of rabid fans, and I regularly introduced his song Happy Ending, to my orchestra students, since it’s a great example of how the ‘mood of music’ can overide or completely change the way the words sound. Mexico’s National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature seems to be investigating this both to determine if it's authentic and on the grounds the work is considered a national treasure. Here's hoping he'll face some form of consequences, as he seems to plan on doing this more.
