I seriously DO NOT understand people like that. They’re all over instgram too. Why the f*** are you using all these tags when you shit isnt related to it??

Are you that desperate for people to pay attention to you??

And even worse? These people manage to gain a loyal following! How can people like and reblog these clearly misfiled or stolen posts???

It urks me do much. Omg i just want to leave. Why do i continue to fight this losing battle for people who dont care. The tag is a mess every other day full of stolen art and shitty posts, but people consume that content anyway.

I really just need to go.

Kira, if it’s becoming a chore and doesn’t make you happy anymore, you’d be doing yourself a favor by walking away. 🙂

I am. From this blog anyway. I’ve cleaned out my drafts and there isn’t much left to do. ^_^ Of course, I’m keeping my other stuff, but it kind of feels like being in a crowded room of people who just annoy you.

I’m good now, especially once I build a theme and whatnot.

Anonymous asked:

hello! can i ask for a tutorail in hands/arms and legs/feet?

Hey! Sorry for the late reply, I haven’t really had time to do the tutorial for you! But, I did one today. It’s kinda messy and not 100% anatomically perfect (I do several flaws myself) but I think I made some good points!

  • Arms:

Arms cannot be done without shoulders, so that’s why I will include them here. To know how one body part works, you need to understand the other parts too. I suggest drawing a stick figure, as shown above. Do it with shoulders and everything - don’t care about anatomy. Really, don’t - go mad! You can figure out how to deal with the anatomy AFTER you have figured how to draw the body freely.

I imagine most body parts to be shaped as tear drops, as shown above; especially the arms and legs. Draw them above the stick figure - don’t be afraid to overlap the teardrops. In fact, I suggest it! The best way to understand anatomy is to think of it as shapes and doll-parts.

After you’ve figured that out, do several, VERY tiny, small doodles like these. Go crazy - don’t bother with anatomy just yet. Do them also very quickly and so small you can’t think of the details. Just keep doing this until you sorta understand how arms work.

Here is a doodle of a “real” arm, and as you can see, how it’s shaped it resembles the teardrops above. A general rule is to constantly draw the body in curves - male AND female. NEVER draw a single line straight.

I mentioned before I thought it was important to include shoulders/other body parts to understand another. This is why. The body basically has a “flow” when you move. The red lines clearly shows the flow. This is also how you can create a dynamic pose: think of the flow. The muscles are formed that way to be able to function. Which reminds me, buy some good anatomy books. And I’m talking about more or less MEDICAL anatomy books - you think you won’t need it - but trust me, it’s more useful than you can imagine. I do NOT suggest buying “stylistic” anatomy books, like Christopher Hart (ugh NO), for example, as these can mislead you. Medical anatomy books CANNOT because they MUST be right.

And for the last part, here’s some “do’s” and “don’ts”. It’s important to remember the muscles between the neck and shoulders. Many, especially when drawing females, forget this. It’s true the most visible it is - the more muscular you will look. But even the most petite people have these. Your neck literally would not function if you didn’t have these supporters. Then, the arms below is just to show why it’s important to draw the body with curves. Many have probably heard “straight lines for males” which is a complete lie. They will look stiff and unnatural. Curves can both empathize muscles AND fat. Heck, even your bones aren’t straight.

  • Legs:

Legs certainly are the hardest. There’s a good reason for this; because they’re one of our most strongest muscles, and they are more or less dominating when it comes to poses (together with the spine). However, just like with the arms, draw a stick figure. I won’t suggest drawing them completely straight, as you can see here, as it will add weight. Do teardrops shapes. As for the hips - think of them as panties or briefs. This is not a MUST; but it will help; I think!

And just like the arms, do small doodles. Don’t be serious, play around until you get the idea.

As you can see, these legs easily can be turned into teardrops even when they’re detailed like this.

Now, what makes legs/hips interesting is that the way fat gathers there. Although not a must, seeing as we’re all different, females tend to get more fat there than men. Usually, however, it’s not at the SIDE of the hips, but at the thighs, calves and the “love handles”. (Excuse my english, aaah…) Women also tend to have bigger hips, but again, it’s not a must. It’s not uncommon to have small hips, either; or big hips for men, etc.

Of course, the legs too follow the “flow”!

Something worth noting is the “Standing point” The standing point is basically a straight line, and the further away you are from the line; the more unbalanced you are. To create a dynamic pose you should avoid that line as much as possible. However, if you want to look balanced/realistic, have the one leg stand there for support. The leg to the left is balanced, as you can see one of the legs is taking all the weight; with other words, it’s the support leg-making it balanced. The legs to the right, however, are likely to fall over if she keeps standing like that! edit:

Now for some more do’s and don’ts. I already mentioned the barbie legs, invisible heels and micro-mini crotch in my previous tutorial, but these two are different. I see this mistake a lot; when you sit down, your thighs will become wider because you’re pressing all the fat to the sides. Now, this also depends on how you’re positioning your legs. How much it widens depends on how much fat you have in the first place; but it will always be there.

And then there’s this awkward “thigh gap”. Before I get any haters telling me how I “thin shame”, please, take a seat and read this. Good? Good. How much space you actually have between your thighs depends fully on how you’re standing, bending, angle, body type and everything else. However, the one to the left? Not likely.

  • Hands:

- Okay, I’m getting really lazy now; so I’ll be quick. Draw a rectangle. Sorta like this; it doesn’t have to be exactly like this - since hands can be shaped VERY differently. Just compare to your friends.

- Draw a little triangle attached to it.

- Now, the fingers! How long they should be and etc doesn’t really matter either. But if you’re unsure, draw them as tear drops, too.

- Now, flesh out the fingers! Starting to look like a hand, sort of.

- Then draw the details and fix things you didn’t like. I really don’t like the way this is drawn but I’m just tired right now.

Just like the legs/arms, practice by doing that simple figure really quickly.

  • Feet:

Okay, I’m getting really lazy. Plus, feet are SUPER HARD- I’m just going to say this: think of them as triangles. Overlap them; think of it as 3D!

Practice practice practice! And medical anatomy books. And photo references. And real-life references!

Hope this helped! \o/ As I said, I’m nowhere near perfect but, ahh, I tried.

Edit: Good damn did I make many typos

Wow I like weird fruits and I have only heard of three of these before. Only actually tried one-the kiwano melon. I eat those regularly.

I made the mistake once of trying the African cucumber.  It, uh.  Tastes like cucumber.  Yeah.

Ahh yes, The dreaded school. When it comes around we all dread, new teachers, new schedule, some new unfamiliar faces, the MASSIVE amount of homework load, less time on tumblr. Here is another long post with a few sites and others to help you out here!

  1. Remember that today’s day in age is different from how it was back then. So don’t stress about school too much.High school students today have the anxiety of what a mental patient in the insane asylum had in the 50s. Here’s also a thing to show how times have changed.
  2. Prioritize. List what needs to get done first and when. Sometimes getting the bigger/harder tasks is easier than conquering the smaller/easier tasks.
  3. Set times when certain projects need to be done and stick to that deadline.
  4. Turn your phone off or give it to your parents while doing work/studying. I know that we live in the age of technology and literally everything is at the touch of our fingertips. Honestly though you can wait on what your favorite celebrity has to say or if your crush liked your instagram photo. You’ll be more involved in that than you are into your work.
  5. If you have trouble in a certain subject and there is no assigned seating, take advantage of the front. I guarantee you’ll learn more.
  6. Ask your teacher what exactly you’ll need to know. If you’re taking notes during the year, write in the margins whether or not it will be tested. It will be easier to know what you will be tested on.
  7. Save your exams. Half the time your teachers use the same questions (or questions similar) from your exams on your midterms or finals.
  8. Don’t try to do homework straight afterschool if you can’t, despite what everyone says. Give yourself an hour, and try to get some exercise in. I find it stops me getting bored of sitting down. Not to mention helps me concentrate better.
  9. Don’t just read the material, write it, draw it, recite it, quiz yourself on it! Until you have the material down.
  10. Join clubs, sports, or organizations! You’re guaranteed to find friends in there. You’ll already have common interests. Start with that and go with the flow.
  11. College kids: If you don’t have assigned seating, and you have been sitting in the same seat for 2 weeks. That is you assigned seat now. Don’t move or you’ll screw everyone up and they will hate you.
  12. Color code things, such as your notes. If you want to see how I color code my notes message me and I’ll be happy to show you
  13. Be kind to one another.

Um, hi! I was wondering if you could do a mini tutorial on how to colour clouds? (You don't have to do this uvu) I really love your word, I'm inspired by it!

i got multiple questions about this, so i’ll just answer it on this ask

sorry i kept putting it off for so long…

so… i guess i would think of what kind of sky i would want

i like sunsets, so i’ll draw that

so i start with the very back color; it’s a dull purple

my intent is to go from purple/dark grey->peach/pink

i like to use this fuzzy brush

not sure what to call these… the ‘back’ / ‘dark’ clouds?

i put on random splotches at 40~50% opacity of dark blue around the edges

i’m going to put my light source at the bottom right, so i put a rusty orange color slightly at 10~20% opacity

then i blended the colors before i started to add more colors

the more you blend, the better the picture will look 8)

now i put my pen at around size 8-10 to put in thin areas of peach/gold where the light will hit at around 60% opacity

color it where ever you think it looks good

i like to adjust my colors and edit on sai

on an overlay layer on top of the drawing, i airbrushed so dark blue in at the top left and right

then near the end i like to use the combination of lower brightness and higher contrast

i’ll put a video later since my explanation is horrible most of the time…

sorry i put the drawing sideways… it wouldn’t fit

try these drawings for reference…

maybe use the eyedropper and use colors from these?

hope that helps

She frowned when he plopped down on the bed beside her. She had a rough day and she wasn't looking forward to his antics.

Aware of her troubles, Naruto remained still, perfectly content with just being in her company. In fact, sitting in relative quiet peace was a nice change of pace since he knew he could be quite loud, possibly annoying anyone he decided to hang with during the time.

"... Is there something you need, Naruto?" She asked quietly. He was quiet for so long, the silence started to unnerve her. She did not turn to him or open her eyes, unwilling to allow the sun from the bedroom window to reach beyond her eyelids. She was tempted to turn and look at him when he did not answer right away.

Positive that she had calmed down enough, Naruto turned slightly, planting a kiss upon her cheek.

"I love you." he whispered. He remained close enough for his lips to brush her cheek. She felt him smile before he kissed her cheek once more.

Despite the headache she dealt with earlier, she found her troubles melting away as quickly as the smile began to form on her lips. She told herself that it was simply Naruto's infectious smile spreading onto her, but she knew that in reality, he always knew what would release her from her troubled thoughts.

Love.

This is a summary of college only using two pictures; expensive as hell.

That’s my Sociology “book”. In fact what it is is a piece of paper with codes written on it to allow me to access an electronic version of a book. I was told by my professor that I could not buy any other paperback version, or use another code, so I was left with no option other than buying a piece of paper for over $200. Best part about all this is my professor wrote the books; there’s something hilariously sadistic about that. So I pretty much doled out $200 for a current edition of an online textbook that is no different than an older, paperback edition of the same book for $5; yeah, I checked. My mistake for listening to my professor.

This is why we download.

 Alternatives to buying overpriced textbooks

Spreading this shit like nutella because goddamn textbooks are so expensive.

not necessarily art related but as someone who couldn’t afford their textbooks this semester this is a godsend

REBLOGGING because after a little digging, I found my $200 textbook for free in PDF form.

friendly reminder that this exists since I know we’re all going back to college soon

Will reblog every time I see it.
