Hey, gay working class and gay rural interests, aesthetics, and culture belong within the wider LGBT+ community. Country music belongs in gay spaces. Camo and trucker caps and work boots belong in gay spaces. Trucks and doorless jeeps and shitty old beaters belong in gay spaces. GEDs and high school educations and blue collar jobs belong in gay spaces. Being broke and looking like shit belongs in gay spaces. The community isn’t owned by the wealthiest San Fransisco and New York gay-geoisie. Their interests, appearances, and beliefs do not define queerness. 

Me: It’s important to remember to be inclusive of gay people from rural backgrounds.

I saw a take complaining that Kid Loki handed Loki his sword because it didn't occur to the writers that Loki could conjure his own weapon.

And just.

It's haunting me. It's haunting me that someone thinks this is a good point to make as a strike against the series. Recieving a sword was bad because it's... insulting to Loki? Who can make his own weapons?

Good grief. It's not just any sword. It's Lævateinn. It's origins are in the Norse mythology of Loki. Our MCU Loki cannot just make this sword because it's that important of a sword. Kid Loki happened to possess it and he's handing it over as a gift. And nevermind the importance of gift-giving in narratives about quests, because you don't even have to understand the history of this sword to get why passing it on was important. Kid Loki is the oldest Loki and king of the void. He's the king giving a gift to his new knight. But if you know what the sword is, then you should also understand Loki obtaining Lævateinn is a moment of huge significance for him as a character. It's like his Mjölnir. Kid Loki deemed him worthy of his special sword.

But no, reduce it to hurr durr writers dumb.

Which Loki then used in a WHOLLY MAGICAL WAY rather than defaulting to stabby stabby.

It's because of perspective-loss. Series antis have rendered themselves completely incapable of understanding nuance, structure, lore, tropes, or anything, unless that detail originates in the hands of their ideal Loki. They subconsciously strip all agency and intent from other characters and then complain the story is flat and that Loki doesn't do anything.

The entire series is a subversion of his role in the Avengers, where he was the mirror every other character played off of to change or challenge themselves accordingly. Here, Loki picks up or learns something from everyone else, but it's lost on these 'fans.' it's an honest shame, because this is real growth.

Such an interesting point about Loki going from inspiring others to be the best version of themselves to being inspired by others to be the best version of himself. Plus, the series starts by saying that the change happens through grief and sorrow, which is what we see happen to Loki - he grows in how he reacts to adversity, and not through fights or grand deeds.

My policy for the past couple of years is to go into the Doctor and state my symptoms. Then tell the Doctor. “STOP”  “I want your diagnosis and treatnment options for someone weighing 135 pounds.”  When they try to argue and immediately START with weight, I firmly reiterate they are to diagnose me as if I were 135 pounds. Eventually most grudgingly will think about it and answer me. I’ll allow them then to “triumphantly” go on to dismiss their previous diagnosis and pin everything on my weight. 

Then I point out I have been the same weight for 15 years and these symptoms are sudden and new. My weight is no factor in that. Give me the tests and treatment you first mentioned.

This is how they discovered a large fibroid that needed to be removed. From stories I’ve heard from others, if I hadn’t approached it this way it might have taken me years of pain and discomfort before they might have finally discovered the fibroid and treated it.

DEMAND A DIAGNOSIS FOR THE SAME SYMPTOMS FOR A PERFECT BMI FOR YOUR HEIGHT FIRST!!!
