I’m actually seething with rage right now. For those who don’t know exorcisingemily was just ejected from chicon because of her history of (wow) actually just being a target for some well known j2/wincest creepers. This isn’t an issue of ‘destiel shippers aren’t respected’ this is an issue of a small group of fanatics being truly unstable.
When I’m in a fandom I’m curious and I don’t just play in my corner of sandbox. I need to see what’s going on elsewhere too. I’ve been quietly Jane Goodall style observing some staunch destiel/misha haters for a while. 1) because some of their hypocrisy is downright hilarious to watch and the way they focus their energy is worthy of a good sit down with a bowl of popcorn and 2) because there has been a recent frightening trend with some of them using extremely violent language towards the people who aren’t on ~their side~ and it freaked me right the fuck out.
I’ve been saving some comments ~jokingly~ talking about actual real life violence towards either misha himself or his fans and I haven’t been able to let it go. Haven’t known what to do with the information. Them joking about how lucky it would be if Misha were to sustain an injury that would prevent him from attending a con or do his job on the show. I have an account saved of a grown woman in her 50s encouraging a kid in high school to get in a physical altercation with another student on a bus because she ships destiel and talks loudly about it. Like encouraging her to hit her and then laughing about the prospect(??)
Again, I haven’t known what to do about it and it’s stressing me right the fuck out that someone in this clique had the audacity to have this shipper kicked out on false accusations when I’ve been sitting here hoping and praying that nothing happens from this side of ~the Great War of I have emotions that differ from yours about a tv show~

Dean's a demon and he wouldn't have touched her if he wasnt. IMO, that's placing the people that do so in real life in the "Demon category" which is pretty good in my book.
