Beth’s acknowledgment to Viv in the book. 🥹🥹🥹
Don't know if you've finished the book but i think Beth wrote about her 3 relationships with great grace and respect. Glad that her 1st gf is revealed. I think there were those of us who knew her identity for awhile but never ever wanted to say anything to out someone.
I was also wondering how her 4 years with Daan would be talked about (even as outsiders we could tell that it was such a deep connection) and I'm so pleased at what she had written. She admitted to thinking this was the great love of her life, that she was heartbroken when it ended and was surprised to find new love with Viv. I think it was so incredibly mature of them. You can tell that Daan and Beth still care a lot for each other, even if that affection is now platonic.
The book should also hopefully silence people who were trolling Daan post break up, or even trolling Viv and Beth with insinuations of cheating on Lisa. I know it's not the point of the book, but Beth giving a sense of the timeline should put an end to any debate, period.
Can't argue with you anon. You sums it up nicely. But really, credits to Beth and her writer for telling about her relationships with so much respect. And the fact that the book was not really made to dissolve the issue, but somehow you can find answers.
A lot of people thought they really know Viv and Beth’s relationship. But as I read beth’s book, I came to know that Viv tells people that Beth is the one who’s in control and make decisions in their relationship.

ARCANE: LEAGUE OF LEGENDS (2021) by Riot Games and Fortiche Production Happy 1-year anniversary!
Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months. And then, one not-so-very special day, I went to my typewriter, I sat down, and I wrote our story. A story about a time, a story about a place, a story about the people. But above all things, a story about love. A love that will live forever. Moulin Rouge! (2001) dir. Baz Luhrmann

billi want food!
billi mad.

okay but this method of teaching dogs and cats a way of communication is frankly astounding. Watch more of billie’s videos and Hunger4Words (the creator of this sytem) and it’s pretty stunning. yes, there’s a lot of wishful thinking because cats and dogs don’t have quite as complex brains when it comes to language, but the fact remains these animals are a rudimentary form of bilingual. they have their own language (body/scents/vocal) and now they’ve learned to use a very basic form of our language. i’ve seen so many people, linguists even, dismiss that this is just more complex reward association but i mean. dogs have been with us for about 32 thousand years. they’ve evolved alongside us for that long. they are honed in on us. hell, even cats have been our close companions for at least 8 thousand years. that is more than enough time for either one of them to grasp the very basic concepts of our words (especially considering cats literally talk/meow because we talk. that is not a normal thing they do when wild/feral).
so yeah. this is fucking cool.
Once you’ve seen their videos (and Bunny’s as well) it becomes impossible to call it a complex reward association thing. They stop rewarding the animals at a certain point. It just becomes a means of communication. Unless answering a dog’s question qualifies as a reward but then at that point I think we’ve stopped dismissing this system and instead revealed that human language is just a complex reward association system.
Someone tell my inner critic that language is supposed to be a complex reward association system, please.
“Corporations supporting things like BLM and Pride is largely performative and shouldn’t be overly praised or focused on. They’re just trying to do what they think will earn them money” and “Corporations openly showing support for things like BLM and Pride are incredibly important” and not mutually exclusive ideas.
Corporation support is not the source of social change, it’s the visible indication of it. A mall covered in rainbow flags with ‘pride month sales!’ is nothing that makes LGBT people more accepted, nor do tweets from companies about supporting the BLM protests do anything to stop police violence, but they DO show the shift in public mindset. Corporations don’t take risks. They don’t make bold statements that they feel are unpopular or will lose them money or support. They’re a litmus test for when a statement or symbol that has been taboo becomes a commonly held belief.
When a corporation makes these kinds of statements, it means that the people out there fighting every day for these movements are having an effect. Their fight is causing a change in social perception to the point where businesses who carefully choose every single thing they say can post about solidarity with protesters and feel confidant that they are saying something that represents the feelings and beliefs of the majority. A mall being covered in Pride flags is a sign that the country will accept a mall filled with Pride flags. That those working to make social and cultural change are succeeding.
This this this this FUCKING THIS.
