and, to no one’s great surprise, he died again, respawning next to the door
April looked over at him and shook her head. “Can you give me a warning next time,please?” She asked, her voice gentle as she took his arm again and helped him get over to the bed.
"well hey there sexy", a friendly voice says from nearby, "since when does a woman like you not have a date?"
April turned to look at whoever was talking to her. She snickered and shrugged. “Since I decided I needed to get out of the house and everyone else was busy.”
“been everywhere you can think of”, he replied, “hell, even your boy bats there is sort of a friend…sometimes..”
“There’s no way..” She raised an eyebrow. “He’s not even real..”
“died twice”, he said groggily, “kept comin back…..drank more….drempt of you…”
April sighed and walked over to run a hand over his hair. “C’mon, I’ll help you get to the guest room.” She said softly, hooking her arm under his and trying to get him off the couch.
“Vacay. Plus I may or may not be here to visit a friend.”
“Oh,that’s awesome! Sounds like you’re in for a fun time then.”
