Bugs Bunny accidentally transformed the word nimrod into a synonym for idiot because nobody got a joke where he sarcastically compared Elmer Fudd to the Biblical figure Nimrod, a mighty hunter.

He also solidified the idea of rabbits loving carrots when carrots actually carry very little nutritional value for rabbits. The funniest part of that is that the original joke was a reference to a Clark Gable film where Gable munches on a carrot, it was never meant to imply that rabbits love carrots. The Clark Gable reference would’ve been obvious to audiences in the 40s but it has been pretty much lost to time.

Find the light in the dark. I love Korra. I love the character and I love her show. There are many of us out there who feel the same way. There are more who also liked it, well enough. Others who never gave it a fair shot. And then there are the haters. Look. Legend of Korra, love it though I do, has its weak points. What show doesn’t? But the degree of ceaseless criticism leveled at this show, even 4+ years later, is far, far out of proportion to what missteps it made. That’s fandom culture these days though, and that’s what finally brings me back to my point–and to this picture, and what it depicts. Find the light in the dark. Too many of us focus on every little problem, in our media, in the world… in ourselves. There’s PLENTY of truly bad shows. There’s plenty of awful things going on. But there is good, too. Like Iroh said, if you look for the light, often you will find it. So, be like Korra. Risking her life to save a tyrant. Accepting her trauma, and moving into a new stage of her life. Finding a light in the dark.
