I think venus flytraps should be intelligent and ambulatory. I think they should get into the cupboards. I think they should purr when you pet them.

OP there is an entire Broadway musical explaining why you don’t want that

if a vampire were to steady my throat by wrapping their hand around it and maneuvering it so that they can feed from my neck i don’t think they would get anything. On account of all of the blood immediately rushing down to my

holy hell actually

How about you look up the stats for food availability and poverty with starvation in Cuba before deciding you want to be conquered by them.

i

wonder

how

that

HAPPENED

The United States ranks higher in deaths by malnutrition than Cuba does. X X X Wild how they're able to support people like this even with an embargo. I wonder what kind of system would allow them to do this.

It's literally shameful how the United States is so much richer than Cuba and still has a higher percentage of people dying of malnutrition. It's actually disgusting.

people get specific as they age

A screenshot of a chat log, all speech bubbles are coming from the right. It reads:

If it makes you feel any better (about turning 20)

I'm waaay hotter, more confident, physically stronger, and talented now at 33 than I was at 25 or 20 or 16.

Don't let the Advertisers get in your head

We didn't used to say that people were "over the hill" until their 60s

You're NOT "past your prime," you're just getting STARTED

the reason all the Narratives are about 16-24 year olds is because that's about as old as you can make an "Everyman" protagonist. People get... specific as they age. You can't tell a story that resonates with all 40-year-olds the way you can with 16-year-olds because the older you get the more 'specificall you' your lived experience get

20 is the end of the PROLOGUE

NOW the REAL plot begins

Idea where in a hypothetical Baldur's Gate IV, Astarion gets to be a guest character for a certain mission. The new party is storming a palace or castle or something, and Astarion helps out in the first phase.

He provides cover fire, steals from the enemy camps, fights during the final push, and is generally a solid ally. And once he picks the lock on the main gate, he stops and says, "I'm afraid you have to do the rest on your own."

"Because it's our fight and you can't do it for us?"

"No, because I'm a vampire and I physically can't enter without an invitation."

one thing about americans is that they know how to make a fucking milkshake

i hate the stupid milk consistency shit you get here like if you give me a milkshake it better be rock fucking solid. i want that thang thick like concrete. it should piss me off trying to drink it through a straw. i should have to wait for it to thaw

Elf TV: exclusively 300 season-long soap operas

Dwarf TV: How It's Mined followed by a 4½ hr documentary about salt

Gnome TV: those sensory videos for cats where bugs and mice and birds crawl around on the screen. they really like this

Orc TV: Mythbusters and Top Gear reruns

Halfling TV: the most incredible impassioned storytelling you've ever witnessed always neatly contained in 2 seasons max

Fairy TV: imagine Impractical Jokers except theyre capable of stealing people's faces . this is the only show that fairies have

An interesting demonstration of how the human brain works.

But also something of a lesson regarding perception, and the unreliability of subjective perspective versus objective reality.

You can be extremely certain about how you perceive the world, your "lived experience," that which you "feel it in my heart." But that doesn't mean it's actually true. And it doesn't mean we have to endorse it, or ignore or outright deny objective reality.

That's a "you" thing, not a "we" thing.

shout out to the sound designer who was like "I know exactly what kind of music to whip out for this one!"

I've never actually seen this before, and WOW is that cool!
