So I'm starting a new ongoing project. I've recovered my frankly excess amount of Pokémon cards and I decided I'm gonna replace the art on them with my own. This was my first go, testing out methods and such. I've already learned a bunch of things and hopefully the second one I do will go smoother! So I’m trying to really improve on my coloring in 2016. And also I’m trying just to work harder on my art and get quicker, since I’m so very slow when I work. Things I’m apparently not working on, well crafted sentences! oof.

But seriously, coloring. @amanda-boucher​ has been so nice to me and is letting me practice on some of her amazing ink drawings! 

This is the second drawing of hers that I colored. I think it took around the same amount of time, maybe a little less? The flats were actually a breeze this time! It was the details that held me up this time. I kept having an internal argument about certain design patterns and some color areas. Colors done in Photoshop.

I wanted to share another page from the project I'm working on with @amanda-boucher. Because it's just so amazing! She did such beautiful job drawing the hundreds of fish! We're really excited for what we have going on with this, it's been a lot of fun to do. Although, trying to color each fish differently was a mistake I made going into it haha. So many fish. As always, art by Amanda, colors my me. 

So at NYCC the other weekend I picked up this amazing Hogwarts crest print (original here) from the amazing @jmdragunas. He is seriously an amazing artist and an equally great guy! 

I decided it’d be fun to do a coloring of this, since I’ve never colored anything like his work before. So this is what I ended up with! It was so much fun to do, and I think it came out quite spiffy looking. Colored in Photoshop using Kyle T Webster’s watercolor brushes (here)

So I don’t think I ever shared anything from this on here. But I’m making a comic with amanda-boucher! Amanda is doing the AMAZING art and I’m writing it and making it nice and colorful! I’ve been slacking a bit on it, but I’m trying to work my butt off on it now. So hopefully we’ll have something nice and shiny for you one day.  Thought I’d share this page, cause I really like and stuff.

So I'm putting together a super sketchbook filled with art from pretty much my whole life. Like, there's something in there from when I was maybe 5? Less? Who knows. But I'm also filling it with fun stories and stuff about my process (and the many struggles I have with actually getting pieces done sometimes). So yeah, here's the cover for it! Some of the text may eventually change, but this is it. A huge bunch of credit goes to my friend danajquigleyphoto for the photo! He's an amazing photographer, and helped me not kill myself getting in and out of that cart. We have another great picture for the back cover too, which you'll see at some point. Woo!
