Did you know that after having kids your abs grow apart so you can't have a six pack? It's called a diastaysis (sp?) and the only way to fix it is to get surgery to sew them back together.

JFC there is so much incorrect information here I don’t really know where to start?

First, diastasis recti happens DURING the pregnancy, not after.

Second it CAN happen, it does not ALWAYS happen.

Third you don’t absolutely need surgery. People do get surgery for it but its not 100% necessary. There is physical therapy for it to tighten things up. You can in fact have a six pack after dealing with diastasis recti though I don’t know why it matters.

Lastly, this doesn’t have anything to do with me because I never suffered from diastasis recti. My abs didn’t separate.

@anon my abs did stretch and separate a bit but didn’t tear. I’ve had three kids and no surgery and still have a 6 and sometimes 8 pack…so there’s that. Women are not wrecked or ruined after having kids. Lord.

I think I would remain anon if I were going to spew nonsense like this myself.

I made a post earlier about the World Cup and I kind of feel guilty. The fact is that what we did as a country to Japan at the end of WWII was flat out wrong. Yes I know, they started it by attacking Pearl Harbor, a military target. I still believe very strongly that the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, two of the most populated cities on THE ISLAND of Japan was one of the biggest black eyes of American history. The other being how white people treated the American Indians. We practically wiped out an entire nation of people without regard for civilian casualties. The American Civil War and slavery are all over the news these days. People need to stop regurgitating their crappy history lessons from the 5th grade and read a book or two. The civil war wasn't about slavery. That was a strategic after thought by President Lincoln that helped turn the course of the war back into the Union's favor. In my mind and heart, slavery takes a back seat to the American Indians. If the atomic bombs weren't an act of existing war, I would place that in front of slavery in America as well. You notice that I say "slavery in America". That's because there has been and still is slavery all over the world. You don't own it, and people should not feel ashamed of it or privileged by it. NO ONE THAT OWNED SLAVES OR WAS A SLAVE IN AMERICA IS STILL ALIVE. So everyone needs to get over their crap and move on with their lives.

Who is crazy enough to decide that they want to be a professional athlete at 40, after 20+ years falling out of airplanes as an Army Paratrooper? This guy! Thanks for supporting and following along. It means more than you know.

America is some fucked up dystopian shit honestly like how are y’all even surviving? Paying for healthcare? $60,000 on tuition? POC getting shot in Wal-Marts? White men shooting up elementary schools? That’s terrifying I’m worried about all of you

Oh.my.fucking.god. You whiny bunch of shits. Yeah. We’re the ONLY country where shit is fucked up. You’re a moron. You bunch of over privileged assholes. You wouldn’t last a week in some of the countries that suffer from widespread terrorism, disease, severe poverty, unstable governments - but you complain because everything isn’t picture perfect in our country. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - ITS YOUR FUCKING COUNTRY. If you don’t like that, then get your whiny, lazy, overly sensitive, easily offended ass UP and change it. Jesus H Christ.

What da fuck is wal marts? I thought it was Wal Mart my whole life. What do I know though, I'm just a dumb American.

I came across your blog on Tumblr. I had back surgery about six months ago and gained a lot of weight. I am looking to get back in shape. Do you have any advice or workouts for someone that recently had back surgery? Thank you for time. Cazzie.zerbe-at-yahoocom

I can offer some vague advice at best. I would say first to lower your caloric intake to suit your current activity level. Then I would do everything that your physician will allow you to do. I am sure that at this point you are pretty much on your own with that. The hard part is getting to the gym and doing it consistently. I have never taken the back surgery offered and at this point have all but totally recovered. The only symptoms that still exist are due to nerve damage. I wish you the best of luck and say push your limits carefully, but push them nonetheless.

Holy shit! Someone reblogged my old "18 month transformation" pics. They are a year old now and I had totally forgotten how far I am from where I started two and a half years ago. I don't even remember myself that way. I am shocked when I see that pic because I didn't see that when I looked at myself back then. Thank god I changed my lifestyle and got over all of my shit. I am so much happier now.

Take a wild guess what this trend coincidences with?

My guess would be that we are some lazy fucks. We want everything fast and easy. And unfortunately technology has taken a lot of the “hard work” out of most people’s jobs. We expend less energy but take in more calories from our cheap, easy food. My New Years “resolution” (I rarely make them, but this year I want to) is to change how I think about food. I don’t want to sit around in contest prep pinning disgustingly sweet desserts on my “food porn” board because it puts food on a pedestal. It makes me obsess over how badly I want it. I want to change that this year.

It trends with women working outside of the house - to answer the original post. Something I can relate to - working a 9 hour day + lunch + commute = around 11 hours gone 4 days a week, 5 on Fridays. I then try to make it to the gym or basement 3-4 times a week for a workout (~1-2hrs depending if I stay home or go to SG).

Doesn’t seem lazy to me, more just trying to keep life together while also reserving time to oneself and to keep the family fed. Sometimes, fast food or restaurants it is.

I don"t agree. Show me a fat Amish person between the age of 8 and 60. You can't, because they work their tails off and don't eat crappy fast food all of the time. Most Americans are pressed for time and fast food, processed microwave dinners, take out/delivery food help them to keep going. What are you saving that time for though? So you can sit on the couch and watch Sons of Anarchy and other TV until midnight and rob yourself of sleep and virtually guarantee you will be eating fast food again tomorrow since you didn't have the forethought to cook decent food for yourself. Fact: I have never seen as many people in the gym as their typically is in the mall food court.
