to me this album feels like it really hits on the intersection of her personal and professional lives and how they intertwine and feed into one another, especially when it comes to agency and love. she kind of hit on this with midnights, but this really really gets into it on ttpd, esp in the second half

“at dinner you take my ring off my middle finger and put it on the one people put wedding rings on and that's the closest i've come to my heart exploding” made me feel lots of things

I’m gonna conclude this department meeting by saying:

Taylor and Jack need to take a musical break from each other because it seems like they’ve gotten too comfortable together in the studio and aren’t challenging each other anymore. Also Aaron Dessner is a king, a saint, an angel, and the best thing to happen to Taylor’s music.
