These are my latest creations.

I made a “Christmas Tree” but I think I’m going to make another one or two and have a little winter woodland on my craft table.

The second photo is of baskets that I made out of random balls of yarn I had strewn around my apartment. The center basket is actually holding all my scrap yarn balls. I know that the colors aren’t easily seen but my camera and the lighting weren’t agreeing with me. From left to right: red, orange, and yellow; black, burgundy, and brick (I think that’s the color...it’s a weird red); and chocolate brown, teal, and gray.

I did make an amigurumi latte but my camera’s battery just died. Oh, well, it’s not that spectacular anyway, lol.

I’m back!

After having my old laptop die from over-usage and not wanting to wreck my new laptop, I ended up borrowing a tablet laptop to do things on social media. I should start posting pictures of my latest projects soon.

It’s been nearly a year

I am still having issues with my computers so I haven’t been able to post on here like I had wanted to do. I still do put up pictures of the things I’ve made on my Instagram so you may certainly go look on there. The link to my Instagram is on the main page of my blog.

I started this around mid-November and it’s taking me a bit longer than I had expected. It utilizes two strands of yarn which is nice and all but the twisting of the strands is driving me nuts. I have to untwist the yarn after every two rows or else it gets ugly fast.

So, I took this picture yesterday (this is the wrong side, obviously) and you can see that there are a bunch of ends for me to sew in which equals a very unhappy me. For some reason, there are a lot of sections that are tied together in the skeins. I don’t enjoy it one bit.

I am approximately half-way done knitting this. I first used two separate skeins for each yarn strand and now, I only have one skein left so I’m using a stand from both ends (as shown in the picture). According to my calculations, I’ll need one more skein to finish the scarf as well as for making the fringe.

I want to get this done before my friend’s birthday which is at the end of this month. I am a slow, slow knitter. So, maybe it’ll be a while yet.

Materials:

Lion Brand Fisherman’s Wool in Birch Tweed. Size 10.5 aluminum knitting needles. Patience. Concentration.

I started this back in May of this year. I work on it intermittently so it’s going to be a while until I finish it. Currently, I finished 43/125 rows. The yarn tails on the ends are to be used to make fringe so no sewing yarn tails for me!

The pattern is “Kisses for Baby” by Kay Meadors from “Leisure Arts #5545, Baby Wraps 8 Crochet Blankets”.

It’s been a while, hasn’t it?

I’ve been on hiatus for the past few months; sorry for disappearing. When I first started this blog, I had a lot of ambition and ideas that I had thought would fuel my creative abilities and make me make more stuff. Eh, it sort of helped, I think.

But, getting to the point: I like posting on Tumblr but I have two VERY uncooperative computers that especially don’t like websites that use a lot of resources (i.e. - an abundance of pictures and gifs that make my graphics card and processor work overtime). So, I’m at a loss here because Tumblr is super easy to use and I don’t have to worry about storage limits (I don’t recall having one).

What to do? What to do?

Anyway, I really want to post about my latest project so maybe I’ll find a way to still post on here. If anyone has any suggestions, by all means, please share. :)

Cross-posting from Instagram

I have an Instagram account now so I'll be sharing posts of my crocheted and knitted items from there onto my blog here. That is, as long as I remember to do it, lol. And, of course, I will make sure to edit my Tumblr posts to have the links to the patterns I used and any other information I forget to put in my Instagram posts.

I do have a link to my Instagram account on my blog page but I'll put it here, too. My Instagram

Two Color Tweed Scarf - I've been working on this on-and-off since early last month but I seem to have the Winter Knitting Blues because I haven't been in much of a mood to knit so the progress is very slow.

The yarn is Loops & Threads Impeccable in Teal and True Grey.

Amigurumi Gingerbread House - I had been looking at this pattern since last year but I was busy with making other things so I put off making it until now. I made a few changes that aren't noticeable except for the change in color for the round candies (I used some scrap yarn I have taking up space). This is a great project for using up said scrap yarn since the candy pieces can be any color you would like.

It took a bit of assembling and sewing so I'm not sure if I will be making more. I don't enjoy doing a lot of detailed work when sewing is not my forte. If I do make more, I need to refine a few of my techniques.

Since I finished my shawl, I decided to make a hat to go with it. It's only in the beginning stages right now.

The pattern is "Easy-going" by Lisa Gentry from "Leisure Arts #5548, Slouchy Beanies: 9 Knit & Crochet Designs”. The yarn is Red Heart With Love in Chocolate.

This is being made in the Small/Medium size.
