genuinely, the people i share zero covid communities with are petrified right now. all walls are down for infection, not even the token of awareness or prevention remain.

your chances of developing a disability from long covid are one in every ten INFECTIONS. most people i know were on their second or third case before they just stopped testing.

the lastest vaccine booster has reached maybe 15% of the population and some states are seeing their highest case numbers of the whole pandemic.

Hey guys, I'm hoping this will be my last post like this going into the new year. I was finally able to get started on a debt management program which will reduce my debt burden a little bit, so I feel more optimistic about stabilizing. I escaped living with my abuser this year and I have my own place now, but I've been struggling to tread water on my own. I have shelter and my lights are on, but I struggle with pretty much everything else. I'm trying to find ways to free up money to make next year a little more bearable while I get back on my feet. Laundry costs have been a sleeper hit for me this year. I recently had Covid and wasn't able to do my laundry for a bit because I was isolating. I had to do some extra loads the other day at the laundromat, which was outside of my budget. Now I'm going to be short for some expenses in January because I also did not have enough PTO to cover all of my sick time, and I used some of the money I was trying to stretch until my next payday on laundry.

I don't have a lot of clothes. Most of what I wash is my scrubs for work, but prices have gone up at my laundromat. At its absolute cheapest, washing my clothes cost $20 every two weeks for me. This is excluding the cost of gas. I live in the sticks and my nearest laundromat is a 20 min drive to town. That money could go towards food, which I don't have much of (I earn just a bit too much for SNAP so I rely on food banks), gas for my daily commute to work, or paying for my meds.

I've been thinking a portable washing machine would help, but I can rarely hold on to money long enough to save for much of anything. I'd be grateful for help getting one. Anything would help, but I'm setting my goal at $200 so that hopefully I can get a sturdy machine with a spin cycle (to help with hang drying my clothes) that will last me a decent amount of time.

I am moominhands on vnmo and cshapp and you can message me for pypal!

$152/$200 thank you!!!

[id: a photo of a hamster on a couch. It has been edited to have a party hat on its head and a party popper at its mouth, with colourful streamers, balloons, and juice boxes scattered around the couch. most of the original meme text has been coloured over and the caption now reads 'we made it through this year', 'seriously we did this'. /end id.]
