Yeah you're right. It WOULD be pretty fucked up if you were a swan but you were raised by ducks and you grew up never seeing another swan or even knowing that such a thing as a swan even existed so you just thought you were a duck with something super wrong with it.

Item: end result of a haberdashery challenge to create a suit that’s as uncomfortable to wear as it is to look at

Not to lecture but: so okay yes it's very odd looking, but that is the point of this piece (and collection). It's meant to call attention to how stupid 9/5 work is. The suit is part of the "White Collar System” Collection by Jiiawei Han from the Bachelor of Arts Fashion Design Show 2023.

He describes the collection as such: "The system is the indivisible boss of us all. He is even the boss of our boss, and is essentially just a pile of metal and code; yet we all work for him willingly, though we probably don't even understand the reason.

The system is so cruel to humans that it has changed their minds and bodies, even me, even you. "

The suit is made of flesh. Labor is done by your hands at the expense of your body. A few other pieces from the collection are equally odd looking and further explain his point:

The one to the far left is made of used cigarette butts, the innumerable smoke breaks to relieve the tension of work. The center is more obviously about the contortion of our lives into the relentless machine of capitalism. And the right... I'm gonna be honest I'm not sure what that's going for, but feel free to ponder it yourself.

Anyway! My point is that silly things have meanings beyond your knee-jerk reaction. I'm not admonishing anyone, this DOES look weird and kinda stupid. But consider: why was this made? How was it made? What materials and techniques were used in the construction? Who made this and how much influence do they have?

didn't walter white wear that in BrBa (Breaking Balenciaga)?
