"Let me sleep in your arms. Let me breathe this clean bright light surrounding you."

Those words followed shortly after Starrk’s last ones, and it made Kaname shake his head ever so softly against his partner’s chest, eyes closing lightly to allow himself to just enjoy the ring of those words echoing through his head and his whole being. Who would have said, when they first met, that they would end up there? Whispering romantic nothings to each other? And who would have guessed they would actually like it? That one day they would feel like they needed that to live?

Kaname didn’t mind. At all. He was not one to show his emotions, as well as he knew Starrk wasn’t either, but something about being together made it all be worth it, and words whispered to the air between them or against lips pressed onto each other would mean the world. They both had learned it along the way, and if now they could open up to one another, then everything they had gone through was perfect just like it was.

A soft sigh was released against the exposed skin of the Espada’s chest, and the hand around his neck moved only a little to hold him closer, fingers reaching out to whatever strand of hair they could find. Another pleased sigh, and his fingers started playing lazily with the dark strands.

Honestly, he didn’t feel the need to verbalize an aswer at that moment. His whole body— pressed against Starrk’s, welcoming him, sharing the warmth of the sensation of being together— was speaking louder than any word that could leave Kaname’s lips, and the dark-skinned male was sure his Arrancar would be able to understand the silent answer.

They could speak a thousand words, or absolutely nothing, and they would still understand each other. Maybe, later, when he had enough time to think about it, it would hit the Shinigami that it was what love was about, and that he should start considering the idea that they had, indeed, fallen in love with each other.

Ah, but they had time. Their story would be forever, as long as it would last.

Shifting slightly and resting his head against Starrk’s chest, Kaname allowed the tiredness of the past days to slowly consume him. And as he was beginning to fall alseep, he could swear he could hear a heartbeat that was not really there.

"I miss every part of my body touching every part of yours."

The words came unexpected from behind his body, and Kaname’s eyes widened in slight surprise. He had, indeed, felt Starrk’s presence in his room, and coming closer as well, but he didn’t think the Arrancar would just go ahead and whisper those words in his ear. And truly, his body reacted almost automatically, nearly leaning into the taller male’s.

But he didn’t allow his own body to do so.

Instead, he shifted himself just enough to be able to reach out for Starrk’s hand, and brought it up to his lips, placing a soft kiss against the white fabric of his glove. It was a gentle and chaste kiss; but full of promises that only the two of them could understand.

And only then he allowed himself to lean softly against the Primera’s body; not to tease him, but only so both could feel like they were whole again. Just so they could feel themselves against each other again— it was not exactly what Starrk missed, but for now it would be enough. Everything else would surely come soon enough.

"Every part of my body belongs to every part of yours," he whispered finally, a sincere answer of his own. A promise. The truth. “You always know where to find me.”

A small snow-white dragon on the middle of his desk in a plaited basket, curled up in a little ball, asleep and under it was a little letter, the words would not read much but - likely and surely - give a very delicate hint. "A gift solely because of my appreciation."

Avatar

A small giggle escaped dark lips as Kaname caught the sight of the little white dragon sleeping, and he reached out slowly to run his fingertips against the pretty snowy scales, carefully not to wake the sleeping being up. The little ball moved a little, making small noises, but didn’t open its eyes.

Kaname’s smile grew winder, rather fond. It was impossible to hide just how much he loved those mythical beings.

It was after a few seconds that he saw the letter, and curiosity made he blink twice before retrieving it from its place. A shake of his head followed those simple words, and Kaname made a mental note to thank Starrk as soon as they meet again; also, maybe Starrk could even help him picking a name? Not that Kaname was not good with names, but it would probably be a way to show his own appreciation.

But all that would happen later, maybe even another day. For now he would make sure to let the little dragon rest, as it seemed to be quite young and rather tired, and later he would let his other dragons know they had a new companion— although they probably were already aware.

He was sure they’d love the new member of their family.
