She said nothing, glancing away as she considered those words, wondering what would have happened if she didn’t come back. Warding those thoughts away with a shake of the head, Frisk accepting the seat and sitting back down.

        ❝ If you think so. ❞ she simply said.

The human didn’t say anything more for a while, looking info the flickering flames of the fire before them and letting the sights calm their nerves. A yawn shortly after stretched their mouth, followed by a contented sigh. Frisk eventually leaned forward, outstretching their hands and feeling the warmth gather even more. It had been a long, long day. Despite how abrupt and rather perilous their meeting had been, Frisk felt safe with Sans.

        ❝ You feeling tired? I might go take a nap in a little bit.             It’s been a… a rough day for us both. ❞

                                          — ⇃ ⇨ ⇢ ⇩ ⇠ ⇦ ⇂ — 

They smiled, glad that she decided to stay after all. They manage to stifle the yawn that threatened release. They didn't want Frisk knowing just how tired they really were. They stood, moving to walk past Frisk, leaving the blanket next to her in case. Then they moved over to the couch in the main room. They lifted a hand, a faint blue glow emitting from it as they carefully lifted the couch, making sure not to set it on fire or anything. “א๏ย ςคภ tคкє tђє ς๏ยςђ...” They bring it over, shifting things around so that the couch was in the same room as the fireplace. “เ'๓ ﻮ๏เภﻮ t๏ รtคא ยק ค ๒เt l๏ภﻮєг...” The least they could do is give Frisk a warm place to sleep. They could work on the rest of the house later.

[ The Memoryheads neared, making sounds akin to schizophrenic whispering. They smelled like burnt batteries and also made modem sounds similar to Terror itself. ]

[ They seemed to be either under Terror’s will and command, or extensions of the god-like being itself. They certainly looked bizarre. Two of them seemed to leer at Gaster!Sans, with their many faces, before in several spots around the other little black dots appeared. If they weren’t quick enough to notice and/or evade, the dots would expand rapidly into large ghostly faces that would deal damage. ]

Well, if that wasn't the biggest red flag they had ever seen, or heard. The moment the memoryheads started towards them, they scrambled to their feet. They stench, they had found, was a bit less tolerable than they had hoped. So this left them to tug their hood around and hold it enough to cover their nose and mouth. A momentary glance towards error left Gaster to make the first move.

They raised a hand, the bone structure loosing some of its form and creating a goo like substance. Then, with a wave of their hand, the substance flew off and hit the ground in sloshed plops.

“๔๏ภ't tђเภк ฬє'll ๒є ן๏เภเภﻮ א๏ย คภאtเ๓є ร๏๏ภ.” They took a step back, and in doing so, their hand flicks to the left, causing the puddles to pulse and spring to life. Long spikes jut up from them, and just as quick as their appearance, their form became fluid, long tendrils that seem to move like water.

That when they ran, sprinting off to their right and making as much distance from the other as possible.

Frisk called back rather dismissively, but not  intentionally wanting to come off as so. She  was too caught up in her own thoughts about  how to handle this situation, pacing around in  the living room and looking out a window into the  snowy village. Going out there would be a mistake,  no doubt, but she could only do so much with this  tiny view of the town.

Nothing but snow.

Frisk could head out and possibly look into the nearby  shops for more supplies and possibly clues to where  >and when they were, but that could take some time.  She checked back to Sans and the fire, gauging if they  could pull what they had in mind off. …Maybe not. It’s  been a long day, and they only just settled into this home.  Regardless, they went to the stairs, skipping the steps  and hopping into Sans’ room full of blankets and the single  mattress. Yanking about another blanket and dusting it off,  Frisk came back out and down the stairs once more, passing  it over to Sans when they came back to the kitchen.

She smiled, staying standing to let them have all the heat.

                                            — ⇃ ⇨ ⇢ ⇩ ⇠ ⇦ ⇂ —

“ฬє ฬ๏ยl๔ קгєŦєг tђคt א๏ย ฬคเt, tђ๏ยﻮђ ฬє ฬ๏ภ't Ŧ๏гςє א๏ย t๏.” They give a small smile. “เt ฬ๏ยl๔ ๒є รคŦєг t๏ ฬคเt ค ๒เt, ฬє ฬ๏ยl๔ Ŧєєl ๒єttєг เŦ ฬє คll รtยςк t๏ﻮєtђєг.” They wrapped the blanket around themselves. Eyes staring into the flames as their body was finally reaching a normal temperature. They shifted, moving so that Frisk could sit back down with them. They really didn't want her going out there alone. What is something happened and they were there to protect her? They didn't want to think of the end result. They were silent for a bit before speaking up again. “คt tђเร ק๏เภt... ฬє ๔๏ภ't tђเภк เt ๓คttєг ђ๏ฬ l๏ภﻮ א๏ย ђคשє ๒єєภ ﻮ๏ภє...” Honestly, they were glad that Frisk was back, even if it wasn't their own.

[ Suddenly, and rather jarringly, the monster spoke clear English. ]

* But why would you want to leave?

* Why don’t you…come join the fun.

[ Suddenly, the red eye flashed and Terror was some distance away from Gaster!Sans completely at random. In the meantime, what appeared to be,..no, no doubting it. ]

 Memoryheads appeared.

[ There were four of them. ]

[ No wind blows. No sound stirs. There is only the white expressionless white, the all-consuming black and the soul-rending red. ]

[ You feel like you’re going to have a hopeless time. ]

They froze, eyes widening at the sudden speech. What just happened? They stare, watching as the red eye flashed. Then the being appeared farther away. This made them jump a bit, worry coating their face as something else took the space between the two. “ฬђ-ฬђคt؟” They backed away, or tried to, they tripped backwards, falling to the ground. This left them to scoot away. What were these, Gaster didn't recall ever seeing these creatures, and Sans certainly wasn't making his knowledge know, if there was any. These... creatures stood out like sore thumbs, their white exteriors rather blinding against the black and red.

“ς-ςคภ't ฬє tคlк ค๒๏ยt tђเร؟”

The human slowly lifted up their shoulders in  a shrug at their apology, eyes downcast and  looking towards the fire. Frisk wasn’t sure them- selves how to feel about the ordeal, the compli- pcation of having it happen to many years ago and  the fact that they were a child when it happened  coming in to play.

         ❝ …If we wanted to figure that out, we’d have to go check the Barrier. ❞

Frisk commented, remembering some vague prophecy about how monsters could escape when the Barrier was broken and if… if  something was gathered.

        ❝ Though that might take a while. Might as well set up shop here for a bit              and just get out bearings in order first before we do anything rash. ❞

Getting up from the fireplace despite having  just sat down, Frisk let the other have the heat,  feeling that the blanket already garner some of  the heat and feeling it was sufficient for now.

        ❝ I’ll go check around, and you can stay put here, is that ok? ❞

Check the barrier... They curled up a bit, thinking about, the barrier was one of the last places they wanted to see... It would only serve to show that they were right... or wrong... “ฬє รยקק๏รє ฬє ς๏ยl๔...” They looked at Frisk as she got up from her spot. What was she doing? They couldn't let her go out on her own. They shift, about to protest when they remembered that this Frisk wasn't a little kid anymore. “ฬє... ฬเll ฬคเt ђєгє tђєภ... ןยรt... ๒є ςคгєŦยl... ๏кคא؟”  They give a small smile, then curl back up and huddle closer to the fire, feeding it a couple small pieces of wood. “ฬє ฬเll รєє ฬђคt ฬє ςคภ ๔๏ ђєгє.”
