the most illogical and asinine thing about sleepy hollow isn’t that one of the main characters is actually from the revolutionary war era and awakened in 2013 because his (unbeknownst to him) witch of a wife cast a spell on him and bore him a sin eater/the first horseman of the apocalypse. It’s not even the demons, Headless, Moloch, wendigo, purgatory, or time travel. the most illogical and asinine thing about sleepy hollow is that Ichabod Crane, a white man from the 18th century didn’t have a problem with Abbie Mills’ skin color, but the writers, white men from the 21st century, did.

I’m bi and my pan and a-spec friends face similar struggles. It fucking sucks when you’re oppressed by your own community and oppressed by those outside it. As a bisexual man myself, you need to grow tf up and except that one day where not just gonna turn around and give up the best thing in our lifes, like are you actually fucking stupid? As someone who isn’t that big on the LGBTQ+ community, I have plenty of friends who are either bi, straight, gay, pan, asexual, or something else. While I don’t mind if people’s views are different, if it gets to the point where you feel the need to go out of your way and oppress others, you need to shut the fuck up.

In a world full of oppression, it’s extremely scummy to pull a move like this. It’s even scummier if you’re in the community, cause that’s essentially backstabbing the many, many people who are in it, whether you’d like to admit or not.

My best suggestion for anyone who struggles with stuff like this is to accept yourself. While yes, it feels great to be accepted by others, this isn’t guaranteed. The only person who can bring happiness is really yourself. Don’t let some fuck tell you otherwise.

I recently started a Sleepy Hollow rewatch, and even though I will never be free of the burning rage I feel when I think about that show, my heart still harbors a soft spot for the couple that should have been.
