I wonder who's still here.

If you are still interested in biblical Christian content, I created a new blog which will connect you with my new socials. I guess I'll stick around here for just a little while to let you know I'm here just in case you may be interested.

My new blog is called @eyesonyahwehh. Follow the blog and my other socials if you'd like to stay connected with me.

Something I just abruptly had to think about is that Jesus being God had knowledge of the full history of mankind so maybe none of the parables were actually made up.

We have quite enough biblical literalism without trying to drag parables into it. Is it so hard to believe that Jesus, being God and therefore the creative mind behind everything, had enough creativity to make up stories like basically all humans since the very beginning? Not everything has to be historical to be valuable.

Frankly, most of Jesus's parables are so generic in the events they depict that they very likely not only happened, but happened multiple times. That being said, I consider it unlikely that the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25 ever literally happened, or that in the parable of the talents any human master literally said of his servant, "cast him into the outer darkness."

I would never make a statement on such a thing definitively, I was thinking out loud. I also don’t think the answer really has any bearing on what the parables are intended to do, which is use human experience to speak divine truth.

But I also have to say there’s no answer to the question I don’t love. Either (and it’s really not either-or, because there are shades between this) Jesus was reflecting on people and events He had observed, or He was participating wholeheartedly in the human art of storytelling which most of us would regard as the lesser invention of people who find ourself unable to create actual worlds. And both of these possibilities demonstrate the immediacy of His personal care and love for us and the depth of the divine interest in the seemingly pettiest of our problems.

True! Yes, both are good.

Well if Jesus is the truth and can never lie. It's hard to believe He would say "this happened" and it never did even if He was using it as a scenario. He didn't say "imagine this happening" . He said these things happened. Being all-knowing it makes more sense that He took from all the scenarios He was aware of. This would make making up a story unnecessary.
