I am thrilled to reveal my american gallery debut with the absolutely wonderful Gallery 1988! I've been a huge fan of theirs for a long time so to finally be a contributor is rather special! The aim of the show is to focus on films that were released 30 years ago. I decided to go with one of my all time my favourites growing up, 'The Great Outdoors'! A recent piece I did for my folio. I sure would like some sunshine to come back here in the UK so I can build my own sandcastles!
I think I forgot to mention that my Skating Dinos were selected by Trend Bible for their Spring/Summer 2018 Kids Lifestyle section! I can officially say I am a trend setter for the first time in my life haha!

Fishing Trip
I am part of a collective called Exeter Illustrators and we have our first gallery show going on at RAMM (Royal Albert Memorial Museum) in Exeter. The show has just gone up and is on until the 2nd of July!
This is my main piece for the show and it was inspired by the topic: Under the Sea- a theme correlating with an ongoing museum exhibit. I also did 3 other pieces for the show which you can already see in my folio here.
You can find out more about the show here: https://exeterramm.admit-one.eu/?p=eventtimes&ev=30479
The original print is an absolute whopper, measuring at roughly 14x36"!
If you want to see more close-ups you can see them over on my website: http://jamesloram.com/Fishing-Trip
Happy Easter!
Hope you all stuff your faces with chocolate tomorrow!
These two will be card prints in my store next year I think!
Fox McCloud
I was scrolling through my files and found a half finished Fox McCloud from a couple years ago, so I thought I’d finish him off and scrub him up a bit!
So here you go!
New Custom Name Print!
That’s right, I just put this up over in my Etsy shop!
A great way to personalize a kids room. Over time I hope to add more designs of this kind into the store, so keep an eye out!
On Monday I had the pleasure of going back to my old university down in Plymouth and giving a talk about my post-graduate life and illustration work to the final year students.
I had a great time and the talk, I think, went really well! Thanks to @ahrekisanda for taking some photos of me being all professional!
Unfortuantely you can’t see from these photos, but there was a full room! Honestly!
Wolverine- Berserker Rage!
This was my submission for this months theme over on Planet Pulp: Logan. Love the character and I really wanted to show a bit of his berserker side. I wanted to create this short stocky guy whose all upper body, and I’m really happy with the result. May try a suit variant on him too...
I’ll put this up as prints in my Etsy store very shortly! So keep an eye out :)
P.s. The Logan movie was amazing, I highly recommend it!!!
Planet Pulp - First Loves Show
This was a real last minute entry for February’s show, I’ve been super busy with client work, but managed to get this fella finished.
Sega Megadrive was my first console as a kid, so I had to do a little tribute to the main mascot!
Head over to Planet-pulp.com to see more awesome entries.
Buffer
Buffer is a social media marketing company and back in January I had the opportunity of working with them on a set of illustrations for their blog. The images were designed as blog headers as part of a campaign all to do with different aspects of Facebook Ads. It was fun to tackle a brief different to the work I’m usually doing and I’d welcome the challenge again!
If you pop over to the blog here, it’s full of loads of useful information on all aspects of social media marketing and they might just be able to help you out!
Coat of Arms
Before Christmas I had the lovely chance to work on a commission to design a family coat of arms. They already had the original design hand painted on a plaque, so I was tasked with recreating it digitally and giving it a bit of a makeover.
It was great to work on something different to my usual illustration, and I had lots of fun working on it! I particularly like the goat with his tongue sticking out!
