I know this is supposed to be a lovely picture of friendship between the two of them, but all I can help thinking about is the fact that these two are now bound together, and when ever one gets an order, the other must follow it as well.

My favorite Mulan is genderqueer Mulan and my favorite Shang is bisexual Shang. And if you want to contest those interpretations I know there isn’t any canonical evidence but it’s the closest thing us gays have (in the animated Disney universe) and if you want to take it away you’re probably just mean.

Anyway, this is the end of the Disney Resists series! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed creating it - keep an eye out for my shop! I disagree with this. Every life matters as much as the next.

That’s the whole point of the BLM movement. I see that you’re German so maybe it’s not your fault that you don’t understand US racial dynamics or police brutality or hiring and housing discrmination, but if that’s the case you shouldn’t really be commenting on them.

I understand that Black lives matter is trying to put the spotlight on the injustice towards black people in the American society, but all lives matter equally. Obviously white supremacy is an issue but putting black lives matter/white lives matter too much on shirts, even if it is just on an illustration, is giving them fuel to fight you back into submission. Take power away from them, instead of handing it back all the time with easily misunderstood slogans

Here’s an idea: a slogan that is meant to express anger against injustice and provide an outlet for centuries of frustration, not necessarily placate those in power. The very term “white supremacy” is inherently admitting that white lives are valued higher than others, which means they are valued TOO HIGHLY. If someone is more offended by my drawing putting this concept into words than the death and incarceration of innocent black men and women, I already don’t care about having a conversation with this individual, I care about putting my votes and protests to work making sure they never have political power moving forward 🤷‍♀️ 

Black Lives Matter is a very simple concept. White people took over continents and stole islands and killed communities and enslaved races for hundreds of years, they can pull up their big boy pants and figure out how to live with three little words for a few decades while the rest of us try and clean up the mess left behind.

At least eight islands in the Pacific have already disappeared because of rising sea levels. Over the next century many communities, including my family, will be displaced and lose their ancestral lands and foundation of their cultural practices. Trump removing the US from the Paris Agreement, taking climate change off the National Security Strategy, and repealing the Clean Power Plan is a slap in the face and to me, intensely personal. PLEASE contact your representatives regarding climate change and taking steps to counteract the potentially irreversible harm Trump is doing to our planet.

Hey guys!! After literally years I’m back to making art. I’ve had this series in the works for months now but finally got around to wrapping it up. It’ll be five in all and I’m going to have prints of them available very soon - most likely I will be donating a percentage of the proceeds to the ACLU and other organizations fighting the racist, sexist, warmongering Trump administration.
