Thank you Zayn Malik for bringing culture to One Direction. Thank you for showing young fans how to be proud of who they are and where they come from. Thank you for being strong when there was hate. Thank you for allowing us to see your goofy side and your caring side. Thank you for appreciating the art your fans spent days drawing and for constantly helping young artists self esteem. Thank you Zayn. You are incredible and you deserve all nice things.

This one made me tear up bc savan has been there and worked with them literally from the start since x factor and has seen them grow up so if anyone knows the toll this has taken on zayn, it’s him. He must have known zayn wasn’t always happy doing this but is now finally putting himself first.

Savan also said this about Zayn once: “Zayn’s sort of, you know, he’s like the quiet one a little bit, always reflective about things and I think he’s become even more so. He’s a little bit more sensitive about the whole fame thing and isn’t really into the whole celebrity thing the whole time, which is great because it means he’s gonna be ok. He really keeps things in perspective, which is important.” (x)

what zayn did was choose himself. after years of sacrifice, he finally picked himself. 

good for him. 

please remember this today. pick yourself. nothing, no one, no amount of money is worth your health or your happiness. take care of yourself. if you choose yourself, you will be okay.

You know, I’ve spent the last couple hours being sad that we’ve lost Zayn, and being mad that management let it get to this point, and I may have gotten some dust in my eye at some point.

But ultimately, I’m glad that this is the way we lost Zayn.

Because we could have lost...

i think… in a way, i’m relieved? i mean, it could have been worse? how many people deal with these things the wrong way? how many idols people lost because of fame and the struggle when dealing with it? zayn is going to take care of himself, he is saving himself, and i’m actually relieved. i am sad, i am devastated, yes, i truly am. but i can’t even fathom the pain that i would feel if something worse happened to him in the long run if he hadn’t chosen this path right now.
