Leaving the lights on

Susan: “Pete? Hey, Pete, come here and take a look at this!”

Peter: “What? Sue, the car is still running, and I...holy sincest!”

Susan: “I know!”

Peter: “So that’s been-?”

Susan: “Looks like it!”

Peter: “But that would mean-”

Susan: “Oh shit-”

Peter: “Uh, heh, language, Sue. We’re, uh, still on-air!” (”I told you to leave up the placard before our last shift!”)

Susan: (”Well Wendy had left the coffeepot on, and I didn’t want to be rude and leave it over the weekend, so I unplugged it!”) “Uh, hello loyal viewers! Sorry for our extended absence.”

Peter: “Well, life just gets in the way sometimes, doesn’t it Sue?”

Susan: “Hmm, indeed it does, Pete. Unfortunately, we neglected to let our loyal fans know that our editorial staff has followed the shifting winds of Shipmerica, and moved on to a different regional station.”

Peter: “Nothing lasts forever, Sue. Heck, we’re off on our honeymoon to the Shippibean in just a few days anyhow!”

Susan: “Well, now is as good of a time as any to thank our viewers again for their attendance and care. We-oh, dear.”

Peter: “That’s a lot of mail in the Mail Slot. I, uh, I may have forgotten to put the stop at the Shipping Office.”

Susan: “Taking a look at a few of these is breaking my heart. Viewers, take heart. Both we, your loyal co-anchors, as well as the entire staff of The Weather Anti, are safe and sound.”

Peter: “If a little quiet these last few months.”

Susan: “As you said earlier, life just gets in the way sometimes. In any case, loyal viewers, thank you for watching The Weather Anti. While our coverage no longer in circulation, we’d like to encourage those viewers out there with the entrepreneurial spirit to consider forging your own startup news channels.”

Peter: “Fantastic idea, Sue. After all, these public broadcast channels are funded in part from shippers like you!”

Susan: “No matter what the topic, whether it be cooking, travel, sports, world news, antique dealing, or even cartoons, there’s always space on #The Anti Network.”

Peter: “Exactly. Channels like The Weather Anti and Anti Planet are nowhere close to filling the airwaves, so let us hear your voices too!”

Susan: “Whoops, Pete, looks like I misread our ticket; our flight leaves at 6 PM, not 6 AM! We’ve got to go!”

Peter: “Oh shoot! Well, folks, thanks again for watching, and remember, stay dry, and don’t let the antis get you down!”

Together: “This has been The Weather-Anti, signing off!”

(The door slams and a lock clicks.)

(Beat)

(A key frantically clicks in the lock, and the door is swung open.)

Susan “Almost forgot!”

(A marker can be heard scribbling, and the screen is filled with a placard)

Hello!! I just wanted to say I love this blog! My question is, why is Sebaciel and Billdip (love those ships omg) considered pedophilia when the demonic entity in the relationship really doesn't have any age at all? Thank you!! Love, Hayden 💕

Avatar

Peter: “We’ve got a question from a viewer tonight, Sue, and they’re wondering why some ships with inhuman entities is considered pedophilia.”

Susan: “That’s a good question. Typically, the entities are referred to as being hundreds or thousands of years old, or even more in the case of Bill. However, this is an odd argument because the individuals in question aren’t human.”

Peter: “Bill is particularly…angular, right Sue?”

Susan: “That’s right, Pete. Things get even more interesting when you consider characters like Peridot, from the Stevidot ship. Steven Universe is portrayed as a young teenager, around age 13, and Peridot appears to be the same size and approximate age.”

Peter: “However, if memory serves, Peridot is actually canonically only five years old, making the 13 year old Steven the older of the two despite them appearing to be the same age.”

Susan: “It’s one great example of why fiction is fiction: You can have crazy situations such as one character being much older or younger but still appearing the same age.”

Peter: “Thanks Sue. For you folks at home, remember to send us your feedback, questions, news, or other regions you’d like us to cover to our Mail Slot. Stay dry!”

Okay, that person going on in the two part ask about Ao3 needs to find their chill. It's pretty ironic that there are shipper who are like, “The antis are censoring us by saying our ship is gross!" But then it turns into, "Now let’s attempt at actual censorship by getting a fanfic removed that we don’t like!” NO ONE IS MAKING YOU CLICK ON THE FANFIC AND READ IT.

Susan: “Irony, or completely understandable viewpoint? Pete, I think we may have an anti gusting at the mail slot again.”

Peter: “I’ll go fetch the broom.”

Susan: “The post in question was made specifically about a story that was not tagged as an anti-ship story, which would end up deceiving and resulting in an unpleasant and unwanted surprise for shippers looking for that ship.”

Peter: “Found the broom! To follow up on Sue’s comment, while it would be highly foolish of me to be upset at finding a bear trap at a bear trap store, I would think it very reasonable if, while pillow shopping, I found someone had put a bear trap in a pillowcase I decided to lay my head on.”

Susan: “That paints a…visceral mental picture there, Pete.”

Peter: “That was the intention, Sue. Remember for you folks at home, to send us your feedback, questions, news, or other regions you’d like us to cover to our Mail Slot. Stay dry!”

demifiend-hitoshura says that "Fictional content does not endanger to in any way" but it sure doesn't stop them from actively trying to track people down in order to torture, maim, and murder them... all because a little red demon told them so after being told they don't want to do certain ships with them. And that's before they started telling kids to kill themselves..

Demifiend-hitoshura seems to also have something against CSA. specifically, the use of the letters themselves. She does not believe the term “CSA” can possibly refer to more than one thing and insist that it only means “community agriculture support” and that one who uses it for other means is not a “true” survivor. She talks about how it is wrong to force people to reveal personal info, but she already has, oddly enough, and retains that position.
don’t let demifiend-hitoshura, abyssmalsavior, fallennobility, lord-kuran, or loveismysword use your blog to further their own means to harass and spread hate to other users. They are all the same person. They just want you to send people their way more inclined to listen to their hate and attack their targets for them as well.

Susan: “Interesting letter from an anonymous viewer, or possibly multiple anonymous viewers tonight. Care to give them our take on the matter, Pete?”

Peter: “Sure thing Sue. We reply to letters we’ve received, regardless of source, and our broadcast station doesn’t have the resources to pour over months or years of content from anyone and everyone who sends us mail.”

Susan: “That’s right, and as a result we judge the content of a post based on the post itself, and typically not the posting history of the poster.”

Peter: “However, if you do see inappropriate anti posts, do send us the posts through asks or PMs, and we will do our best to address them on a broadcast in a timely fashion.”

Susan: “Thanks for your understanding. For our viewers at home, please remember to send us your feedback, questions, news, or other regions you’d like us to cover to our Mail Slot. Stay dry!”

Hii there, thank you for making this blog omg ^ ^ I wish wondering how do I explain to someone how a 'problematic' ship is used for coping because a lot of people I know don't seem to understand what i mean! thank you in advance.

Susan: “We’ve got some praise and a good question from an anonymous viewer tonight, Pete!”

Peter: “Thanks, kind viewer! As for your question, it varies from person to person, but here’s an example of one reason, from an excellent source: @anti-anti-wincest! Hopefully this helps answer your question.”

Susan: “Shipmerica is a wonderful place, and we’re proud to provide coverage!”

Peter: “Thanks again, and viewers at home, please remember to send us your feedback, questions, news, or otherregions you’d like us to cover to our Mail Slot. Stay dry!”

I wish to second the comment about AO3's posting policy rules in regards to intentional y mislabeling a fanfiction. it may take a day or so because of the staff restrictions as humans but if you notice a mislabeled fnfiction on AO3 written by an anti classified as a ship they are bashing on and it is not about that pairing or mislabeled fell free to report it. AO3 has made it clear they will not tolerate intentional mislabeling and are not afraid to remove the fanfic in its entirety. (part one)

Avatar
(part two) AO3 has also made it clear that they will not tolerating using their site to troll people a fanfic written for the spesfic purpose of harassing a person/group of people can be grounds for an account termination because they consider it an abuse of resources. As it is their site it is their right to set forth rules that protect all ships and they have. This being said they only act if there has been a violation of their policy links are found on their site at the bottom for more info.

Susan: “We’ve got some good feedback regarding that earlier question from a viewer, Pete.”

Peter: “Ah, thank you kind viewer! While some of our broadcast partners interact with the inhabitants and shippers in Ayotree, being both a relatively-new platform as well as being new to Ayotree themselves, we were unaware of these rules. For viewers who use AO3, please utilize this information if you see anti-storms blustering in those regions.”

Susan: “Indeed! It’s good to hear that others are dedicated to keeping shipping free and available to all as well!”

Peter: “Viewers at home, please remember to send us your feedback, questions, news, or other regions you’d like us to cover to our Mail Slot. Stay dry!”

Keep aspiring to Inspire a positive change. We love to see a better place where people can grow in a toxic free space. So thank you for being here for the shippers and warning about the horrible toxic storms.

Peter: “Some incredibly kind words from this viewer tonight, Sue. Thank you for the wonderful message, and we’re glad you’re enjoying our coverage.”

Susan: “Indeed, creating a safer space for shippers and helping them identify and cope with abusive and harmful anti activity was the purpose behind creating this channel, so we appreciate that you’re finding our work helpful!”

Peter: “Thank you, and of course, please let us know about any ways you think we can improve.”

Susan: “I agree with Pete. For viewers at home, please remember to send us your feedback, questions, news, or other regions you’d like us to cover to our Mail Slot. Stay dry!”

could u guys consider covering blmatsu?

Peter: “A gentle viewer is asking if we can expand our coverage regions, Sue. Think we can do it?”

Susan: “I’m finishing wiring up the additional receptors for Blmatsu Coast as we speak. Thanks for the heads-up, dear viewer!”

Peter: “Yes, thanks for letting us know! Please remember to send us your feedback, questions, news, or other regions you’d like us to cover to our Mail Slot. Stay dry!”

hi! love your blog! :D i was wondering what a shipper should do if antis write anti-[ship] fanfics and upload them onto AO3/other website? thanks in advance~

Peter: “Oh, we’ve got an excellent question in from a viewer here tonight, Sue!”

Susan: “Interesting predicament. I’d say you should message us with a link to the site and story in question, and we can cover it much as we would a regular anti-storm in the tags.”

Peter: “Although it seems quite bizarre some anti would go to the trouble of writing a story explicitly for the purpose of trying to say people shouldn’t enjoy other stories.“

Susan: “Keep trying to analyze the minds of the antis, Pete, and you’ll go mad. Thanks for the question, dear viewer, and for those of you at home, please remember to send us your feedback, questions, news, or other regions you’d like us to cover to our Mail Slot. Stay dry!”

Susan: “Such a gentle bit of disagreement clouds from this anti-gust tonight, Pete

Peter: “Yes, and while polite, even in the tags, it’s not something that shippers enjoy seeing in the tag. Rather, this anti would be better served posting in the anti-ship tag for the ship they disagree with.”

Susan: “For folks at home, remember to stay dry, and don’t let the antis get you down!”

Susan: “...And next up on our coverage, we have a simple layer of disagreeable clouds covering and glooming up the main shipping tag.”

Peter: “What a shame; Despite the presumable typo in the image, the overall message isn’t something shippers likely want or enjoy seeing.”

Susan: “Very true, but being self-contained like this means that this anti-squall can easily be avoided by shipping commuters. Remember folks to stay dry, and don’t let the antis get you down!”

Peter: “There’s a very loud anti-storm blustering into the tags this afternoon. Sue, care to give us the breakdown?”

Susan: “Looks like just rain, rain, and more degrading rain. I’m not sure exactly what this anti wanted to accomplish, as generally telling someone they’re horrible isn’t the best way to garner a positive and agreeable response.”

Peter: “’You catch more flies with honey than flaming battery acid’?”

Susan: “That adage is true here more than ever, Pete. For folks at home, just remember to keep sunroofs closed and windows up until the precipitation has slowed. Please also remember to stay dry, and don’t let the antis get you down!”

Peter: “Did your sensors just beep, Sue?”

Susan: “Yeah, Pete, they did, but it was just a little squib of hot air.”

Peter: “So shippers should be able to bypass this anti-cloud with ease?”

Susan: “If they even notice them at all. For folks at home, remember to stay dry, and don’t let the antis get you down!”

Peter: “This anti-cloud just seems like a layer of disagreement cloud cover, Sue. Are they really that necessary to cover?”

Susan: “Indeed, Pete, as this was explicitly tagged as ship shaming, and was thus directed to cause the clouds we’re seeing downtown.”

Peter: “What a waste of energy that could have been used to power wind turbines and fill hydroelectric dams!”

Susan: “So true, Pete. For shippers at home, the effects on commuting should be minimal. Simply remember to stay dry, and don’t let the antis get you down!”

Peter: “Looks like there’s another anti-storm blustering into Shipmerica, Sue.”

Susan: “There always is, Pete. In this case, they’re slinging a load of degradation rain into the tag, as well as dropping a few inches of fiction-is-reality hail.”

Peter: “Now Sue, surely they were upset about the genocide of billions when they blew up the planets in the Space Wars movies? After all, both those events and these shipping ones are fictional, but this involves a sexual relationship while the other was the cruel slaughter of countless lives!”

Susan: “I’d hope this anti comes to the same conclusion, Pete. In the meantime, commuters are advised to avoid congested areas as slippery conditions may impede braking and traffic. Remember to stay dry, and don’t let the antis get you down!”

Peter: “We’ve got an anti-squall blowing into the tags here Sue, and it looks like they’re blustering about a ship ruining the Canon Jetstream.”

Susan: “Wow, no, take another look Pete: They’re saying the ship has ruined an entire industry.”

Peter: “Goodness, just from a little homemade art and story smut. It’s like that time I drew a penis on a bathroom wall: You could almost hear as the entire overseas textile industry collapsed into anarchy as a result.”

Susan: “That seems very unlikely, Pete.”

Peter: “That’s how I remember it. In any case, for our viewers at home, we simply recommend remembering to stay dry, and don’t let the antis get you down!”

Peter: “Oh look, Sue, we have an anti-storm here trying to emulate a movie line to be clever!”

Susan: “Well, Pete, to be fair it is a popular line from a popular movie, and we are a satiric pseudo weather broadcast, so that’s probably not something that’s appropriate to criticize.”

Peter: “Ah, good point. Would it be fair to bring up the use of a line from a character who spent most of a movie killing and/or threatening to kill people, and was closely associated with characters who explicitly did the same, and how that’s somewhat odd to use when assuming the moral high ground?”

Susan: “That would be fair to bring up. As to whether we hear an understandable explanation is yet to be determined. I guess we’ll just have to stay tuned.”

Peter: “For our viewers at home, just please remember to stay dry, and don’t let the antis get you down!”
