whenever i'm trying to talk myself out of buying something i don't need i always hear my old russian professor's voice echoing in my head: "WHAT??? WILL YOU DIE THE RICHEST MAN IN THE GRAVEYARD?" and then i make an unwise financial decision

I literally cannot overstate how important creative hobbies are when dealing with mental illness. If you can’t draw, there are coloring books. If you can’t write a novel, you can write in short journaling bursts. If you can’t sing in the shower, you can listen to music. Sometimes with mental illness it feels like we have this dark presence inside of us that is bumping around in our brain and organs, causing problems. It helps immensely to let it out.

there’s something just so heartbreaking about tragic lovers. two people who want to be together, who love each other more than anything, but just can’t say it. because of their duties and their responsibilities and even their own fears. a happy ending isn’t in their cards, and yet they fight for one anyway.

im less of a "i can fix them" person and more of a "i can make them so happy n feel so loved that all of the bad things in their life will seem much more bearable bc they know theyll have me n my unwavering support through whatever" person

i feel like a lot of the 'i hate kids' crowd would be more tolerant if they understood that due to a kid's limited experience of the world that 4 hour flight might just be the longest they've ever had to sit still for or that trapped finger might literally be the most pain they've ever felt in their short life or they might not have ever seen a person with pink hair ever so of course they want to touch it or nobody's told them yet that they can't run around the museum and they only just learned cheetahs are the fastest animals so of course they want to put that to the test. how were they supposed to know etc etc.

some of you in the notes.. i would say read the room but you didn't even read. the post

whenever anyone is like “giving people tomatoes from their garden isn’t actually that sweet and kind because they just want to rid themselves of the excess. It’s actually doing them a favor.” Okay, and what did they do with the excess? Throw them out? Or give them to a friend? Can things both be convenient and kind or do you live in a world where acts of kindness are only self-sacrificial? Don’t try to tell me that giving tomatoes is a selfish act. Giving out tomatoes is love for oneself and for others. Giving out tomatoes is kindness to others and kindness to your counter space.
