Meet Me In Terminus || Mira and Kathy

Pulling her legs up to her chest she rested her head on the cold metal of the train car. Some sanctuary this turned out to be. Having been separated from the group at the prison Kathy had found the signs for Terminus and headed there. Her sixth sense, or whatever you wanted to call it, had gone off the moment she entered the place. Having spent time with Samuel and his group she was keenly aware when things didn’t seem right, but just as before it became too late. They didn’t take kindly to her wanting to leave or not wanting to join in the eating, in turn she was thrown in this car, she didn’t even know how many days ago.

Her back hurt from sitting so long, and she decided to take another lap in the darkened space. As far as she could tell she was alone in this car, for now, for she assumed at some point she would have company. Stretching her back she went back to her corner and tried to rest her eyes. It was then that the door opened and a body was shoved inside. From the brief light she could see it was a woman, and using the small amount of light from the cracks in the car she went over to her. “Are …  Mira?”

Mira had entered Terminus that morning- she knew immediately there was something wrong. There weren't any people around beside the woman who introduced herself as Mary. That was a red flag enough-- she didn't like the smell of the meat on the grill, and so she declined. But when she said she was gonna run, thats when the men came over and grabbed her. She struggled and screamed and fought tooth and nail but soon she found herself hurled into a seemingly empty traincar.

Huffing out she scrambled up and kicked the door before hearing a voice- and her name, "K-kathy!? Kathy is that you!" Mira smiled brighter than she ever thought she would and she went to her, throwing her arms around her, "Holy shit am I glad to see you!! Did they hurt you!? What did they do to you??"

"N-- no no... god Connor I'd never be scared of you..." She said softly, looking up at him. She looked down once more, "I'm... I'm scared for us- for all of us. For me... anything can just... change in one second now--"

Looking back at him once more, fear in her eyes, "I don't want things like this to have to happen... I don't want to be the one under the gun by god forbid someone else..." Mira didn't want to have to participate in any of this, "I just want to go back to everything how it was!" She huffed out.

"Y- you're right." Mira ended up saying after he got a few steps in front of her, "Its just... I... I think I'm scared." She admitted, "I've never been scared before really-" She looked over and put her hand on the gun at her hip.

Heard Her Singing | OPEN

The shadows were looming long everywhere, even if the night hadn’t arrived yet, it was still dark. The sun’s warmth was distant even if it was able to reach out and touch the bare skin that was exposed to it. But the light didn’t warm, the light didn’t comfort, the light felt cold.

He swore he heard her singing, singing in his dream with a far-away yet clear voice, almost like a bird somewhere in the forest, it had no worries nor was it scared of anything. It just… sang. Trapped and alone, but it didn’t stop. She kept on singing til —-

Daryl flinched slightly, at first not sure if he was awake at all or was it just another half-dream he had been seeing frequently for the past weeks. He was sitting on the ground with his left shoulder partly leaning against a dry tree, he wasn’t in the woods though. He was elsewhere.

Carefully he dared to look around himself, remembering and then feeling his heart sink into the depths of the silenced sound of singing. Daryl’s lungs expanded painfully slowly as he breathed in before his eyes averted towards a figure of a person that was moving his way.

Mira was devastated at the loss. She didn't arrive on the scene until it was too late; she had been with Glenn and Maggie on the fictitious mission to Washington, DC. She hadn't seen anyone, not even Rick, or Daryl. And that was painful.

When she arrived back at the church to find everyone but Michonne, Carl and Gabriel, she was so relieved to know Daryl was safe. And happy along with Maggie that Beth was alive.

But when they finally made it in the big firetruck to the hospital-- there was Daryl, holding the body of the young woman. And Mira felt numb. If there was anyone she believed deserved to make it through this world it was Beth, she was so kind, warm and innocent. So full of fight and she was so wonderful. She knew how much the girl meant especially to Maggie and Daryl.

Walking up to Daryl as she noticed him flinch awake, she took an unsteady breath before sitting beside him, "Hey." She just hugged her knees and looked up at him.

In the Comfort of Strangers- Rick&Mira

Her chest welled with pride and longing and happiness that she had never known before in her whole life. Smiling she bit her lip, "Oh Rick I... You're the most important person in my life too..." she blushed hard, her cheeks a bright red.

"God If... if I could spend every moment endeavoring to make you as happy as you've made me over the last four years... I'd spend a lifetime trying to." She meant ever word of it.

Mira took a deep breath leaning up to press a gentle kiss to his lips again, and when she pulled away, running her hand over his face, "You're so handsome... maybe the most handsome man I've ever seen in my entire life..."

Mira finally emerged, looking sullen and pale, "I- I dunno, Rick... I just really don't feel well..." Her big brown eyes tried to look sad. But there was something happy in her eyes- just for him. No one had ever stood up for her or wanted to protect her before.

It was almost like on cue the Vice Principal came over, "What are you doing?! You two have been missing from your classes for almost three hours!"

This was Mira's finest performance. She stumbled and held onto Rick, "D-don't be mad Mister Falhurst-- I- its all my fault.." She wet her lips, "I wasn't feeling well and if it wasn't for Rick takin' such good care of me I'd be passed out somewhere I think..."

He looked at Mira with a raised eyebrow-- he wouldn't normally believe her, but- she looked so ill.

"Well- what do you have to say about it Mister Grimes?" Was all her could say- turning to the older boy.

Mira's heart fluttered in her chest and she smiled bashfully, looking down as she saw Rick smile. She wondered if he was feeling the butterflies that she was feeling every time they held hands or met eyes. She never thought she would ever feel like this- not in high school at least.

When they reached the bathroom she reluctantly let go of her hand, looking up at him, "Okay-- I'll be out in a couple of minutes." She bit her lip and disappeared into the girls bathroom.

Taking a deep breath she spun once around and looked at herself in the mirror- her cheeks were bright red, and she looked positively like a schoolgirl in love. Biting her lip she went to the sink- filling it with cold water-- she needed to be clammy. Mira had grown up deceiving her foster parents, and she knew a lot of tricks.

Keeping her face submerged for a few moments at a time in the freezing water- soon enough her face was pale. And she just sat down on the cold floor- trying to will herself to feel and think sick- like she had done plenty of mornings trying to get out of school.

Her cheeks flushed red as she nuzzled against his forehead, reaching up to run her hand over his neck tenderly. Every decision and every conversation for the last four years had led to this moment, and it was perfect because they started this as best friends.

Tears came to her eyes as he said he was the happiest man in the world, letting out a sigh she sniffled, "Oh Rick--" she sniffled again, hugging him tightly, moving to bury her face in his neck.

The woman raked her nails gently through Rick's hair and she finally whispered, "I've been here loving you for so long- everything about you is so wonderful and admirable... you're so kind and smart... you're funny and brave." Pulling back to look at him she smiled, "My whole world lights up when you're around me-- when you visit me at lunch or when I visit you at the station at night... God I've just been trying to come up with excuses to come and spend time with you."

Mira felt her heart skip a beat when she felt Rick take her hand and lace their fingers together and she couldn't help but follow him where he tugged her. A small and lovely smile came over her lips. Rick Grimes was incredible - she honestly knew it in and out that he wasn't like any other person on the face of the earth.

"Oh- okay..." She said with a smile. He wasn't ready to see her walk away? "So I guess I'll have to act like I've been ill and you're my knight in shining armor." She blushed a little as they got toward the door.

"To be honest... I don't want to walk away from you quite yet." She gave his hand and squeeze and smiled, letting him be the leader for once. Mira actually felt in good hands with Rick in charge, leading her into the school building.

"We'll have to go into the bathroom so I can put my face in cold water for a few moments to make myself look haggard-- Do you think that's a good idea, Rick?"

Smiling as he said it was the perfect way to spend his vacation, she all but melted into him against the couch. Everything was perfect here with him. And it only felt better to know that he thought the same way about her, and that he agreed that it was so silly how much time they had wasted.

The way he spoke was so gentle and she didn't quite know how to feel about how he looked at her. It made her feel like she was the only woman in the whole world.

Her smile brightened further when he asked what she would tell him if he said he was in love with him.

"I would tell you, Rick Grimes..." she began, running a hand over his cheek gently, "That I am in love with you too."

"Merry Christmas Rick."

Before she knew it they were there at her bike once again, and their fun was over. She'd have to go back into school now- no doubt she'd either be turned away or given in school detention for the rest of the day. But it was all worth it to be with Rick, to be close to him and kissing him. Even if they didn't go see a movie tonight.

Mira took a deep breath and gave a little smile, "I'll try not to go too fast." Throwing a leg over she pulled on her helmet, waiting for him to get onto the back.

Taking off into the street she entered onto the highway once more- heading back to their school. She smiled to herself as she felt Rick's hands on her waist. Relishing the time they were on her bike approaching South Boston, Mira thought if they were bunking the whole day- she'd take him to her favorite place in the park and they'd sit under her favorite tree and talk about music or maybe even read to each other.

Pulling into the parking lot she stood up, "We have twenty seconds before the vice principal comes out and scolds me for influencing you. He'll whisk me away and tell you to get to class." She smiled, "Thanks for the fun though."
