Shall We Sleep
Shall we sleep my love? Fall into the hazy palm of it and feel its long fingers wrap around our flesh? Shall we take note of the shallow indentations its grip leaves behind on our skin? Shall we sleep my love? Become the quiet sound in our ears of our heartbeat against the pillow? Feel our breath leave our lungs and imagine it stirring together and dancing above our heads? Shall we sleep my love? Trade all the light and fury of this for all the color and calm of that? Curl together and watch as our legs become roots that grow down from this bed and plant themselves into the earth below? Intertwine. Shall we sleep my love? -Tyler Knott Gregson-
