Well, Tails kept his promise.  He wanted to see how Shadow’s doing anyway after a few days.  With his lookalike Chao on his head, wondering why it was brought along this time, he goes to see the black hedgehog after having arrived in this dimension again.  It doesn’t look like it minds, it least.

Perception is perspective.

Lost in a sketch, the striped male was drawing simple sketches detailed with the utmost effort. Mentally attempting to create things he had never heard of to give himself more of a mental picture. Crimson eyes moved up to look at the other.

“Welcome back, kid. I almost forgot you said you would come back.” Polished rubies moved up to the creature on his head. A gentle tilt to the side he hummed, eyes moving to examine it. “I assume this is a chao?” Now that he noticed it, saw it. He remembered faintly seeing many of these. Especially one that followed the cream colored rabbit.

With a nod he takes the Chao off of his head, in which it just gives him a puzzling look.

“Its name is Tang.  It’s been with me ever since it hatched from an egg I had found a while ago.”

“Chao?  Chao, Chao.  Chaa?”  This is followed by some confused babbling from it.  The ball changed into a question mark.  This probably means that it had never saw a Shadow yet.

“My hammer!!! I’ve been looking for it all over, Tails! How did you find it?” She pointed to the hammer in the corner of his workshop.

“Huh?  Oh, I found it when I was on my way back from visiting one of the Chao Gardens with Tang.  How did you lose it?”  He’s fairly certain that it’s quite unusual for her, or any Amy alternate to lose the hammer.

“EEEEEEEEEEE!!! IS THAT WHAT I THINK IT IS?!!”

“What is what?”  And did she have to scream that loud?

Guess who’s bought a dozen chili dogs and has begun to eat them? This hedgehog right here.

Healthy diet? Never heard of it.

“I sometimes wish you’d eat something else besides chilidogs all the time.”  Not that he minded him eating those.

Oh my god! I can’t believe it’s you!” “How do you feel after your first night home?” “The police will need to ask you about what happened… but maybe you want to tell us first? You haven’t said a thing since we got you back!” “We have imagined the worst things that could have happened to you. Please just tell us so we can try to move on and help you.” “Shh, it was a nightmare. You’re in your own bedroom.” “If you want to start living your old life, you’re going to have to start putting what happened to you behind you.” “I can never be who I used to be! I was gone for years! And you expect me to go through some therapy and have my old life back?! That’s never going to happen!” ”Were you scared all the time?
