Designing My Life

@designing-my-life / designing-my-life.tumblr.com

Weird mix of ENTJ/ESTJ apparently. "Just because I don't feel doesn't mean I don't understand."I'm heading towards an amazing life, and I truly believe everyone can do so. Let's be doers and visionnaires together. I am Dani, 24 years old woman from Europe and this is a part of my life - part that is highly driven by my MBTI type and my chosen career path in marketing. Write me, ask me, I love debates as well as coaching others. Welcome to my blog!

I've never seen you cry.

My ex (now my dear friend) whom I loved more than anyone

She shattered my heart into pieces in the past. She caused me more pain than anyone; yet, she never saw me in tears. She never considered my pain as real and deep as I felt it. She probably thought it was not such a disaster to me after all that we could not be together anymore. Now, after 3 years, her one sentence really hit me hard. Out of all people, she was the one that was supposed to see me cry.

2017 Was Cool AF

Christmas time is usually space for reflection and collection of thoughts. I will be really happy if 2018 is as productive for me as 2017 was.

List of things I am really happy about:

(1) I strengthened bonds with a group of friends who became an absolutely essential part of my life. I could not find a picture with all of them though :/

(2) I visited Bali with my best friend. It was the most random planning ever. We just decided and went for it. It was an incredible experience.

(3) Was asked to give a speech at an official TEDx event. When the speech was over, it was without the doubt the most humbling and empowering moment of 2017 for me.

(4) I probably partied more in 2017 than in all previous years combined. This is quite conflicting, but the fuzzy memories we have from it are really cool.

(5) I took my first yoga lesson. It took place during my Bali trip and it looked like heaven there.

(6) I managed to keep all the people who are important to me in my life. Shout out to Kristý, Kristý B., Di, Adry, Tess, Kája, Iry, Káťa, Kája, Káťa J., Luci and Luci :)) even though they will not read this :)

(7) I moved to a new and challenging job position.

(8) I have big big plans with my Canadian best friend for our future business we want to create together. Although I feel closer to our goal, we have a long way to go in 2018, and I belive we have a solid plan for it.

(9) I visited (in addition to Bali) Hungary, Austria, Italy, Spain, Netherlands (twice), Germany, Slovakia. The list could definitely be longer. Something to work on next year :)

List of things I need to work on in 2018:

(1) Listening - definitely a trait I need to learn better. I jump into conclusions too early and try to decide things as soon as possible. I need to be more patient.

(2) Being open to the idea of a relationship. This is a huge one to me. My relationship history is basically refusing all people interested in me and picking those that are too complicated or otherwise not likely to form a relationship with. That’s such a typical problem :)

(3) Stop procrastinating. Not such a huge problem for me, but big plans require absolute dedication.

(4) Get physically fit again. Seriously.

(5) Try at least 10 new things. That keeps people young :)

If you got to the end, then thanks tons for your time and Happy New Year 2018!! :))

Hello! Could you please talk about some studying tips? I study Neuroscience so obvious tips like "make notes" don't work. You once mentioned working smart not hard. How do you do it?

I do not think that tip of mine is always applicable. I do not know anything about neuroscience, but I assume you study medicine or a similar field in which the amount of information you need to take in and retain is insane.

In my field it was enough for me to understand general concepts and the rest I was usually bullshitting through personal experience from working in the field or from reading a lot about the subject matter in my free time. Studying marketing is usually a bullshit.

When I had one crazy psychology subject with an insane professor that had us remembering shitload of information, I remembered only the most crucial information that I could use in many questions he could possibly ask. I am not sure this is applicable to you, but in my case it worked, because I had sort of a skill to find patterns and connections between concepts and tie them together so that what I learned was most universal.

Other than that, I suggest drawing. For my state exams (to get the Czech bachelor degree), I made drawings from my notes, with colors and everything. It was super memorable. I made stories from bullshit dates and details so that it would be hard to forget. When I got a question during the exam, I knew it was the only yellow one and it was so easy for me to mentally go through those drawings of mine and remember many many details. Worked like a charm.

hi im an infp who is doing both psychology and business as a degree. a big issue with me is I'm finding it difficult to stay motivated and do tasks especially when it comes to business as psychology is my passion and business just doesnt fit my values. I'm interested in marketing and id like to know how you keep motivated to be productive and complete tasks even when they're not the most stimulating and you don't really feel like it

It seems interesting to me that you are interested in marketing, yet do not feel motivation for business studies. Is there anything in particular that you feel like postponing every time you get to it?

Anyways, I know it sounds like a cliché, but with everything, it is hardest just to start. It is often suggested to put on runner clothes when you do not feel like working out. Then you would feel weird not going at least for a quick jog. It is the same with everything. It’s the hardest to start, and then it usually goes easy. Pick a very very easy goal, e.g. “I will write 5 sentences of this essay.”. That’s very doable and prompts you to go further.

It works for me at least, but does not help with motivation itself. To stay motivated, you need to have a higher goal than just finishing your studies, homework or semester. Imagine the job you would love to have and what you can fulfill through it (another bigger goal). Annoying parts of studying are just mere tools how to get there, they cannot hold you back.

Another possibility that comes to my mind is finding something positive about anything you feel unmotivated about. Find anything useful you will learn there, a person in your class you are grateful you met thanks to the subject, an interesting professor perhaps…? Try to find positive aspects on anything that you are struggling with.

I hope this helps!

Have a good day, @joyfulwhispersinternet :)

Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry–all forms of fear–are caused by too much future, and not enough presence. Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness, and all forms of nonforgiveness are caused by too much past, and not enough presence.
