I am no longer willing to do to my daughter what you did to me. How did you let me go? How on earth did you do it so easily? It’s okay if you can’t be proud of me. Because I finally am. You may see in her all of your greatest fears squeezed into one person. I spent most of her childhood praying she would not end up like me. But she turned out to be stubborn, aimless, a mess. Just like her mother. But now I see it’s okay that she’s a mess. Because just like me the universe gave her someone kind, patient, and forgiving to make up for all she lacks.

in monkey man when dev patel makes the final confrontation he asks "do you know my mother's name? do you know any of their names?" and that's when it hit me...his character has no name and we've gone the entire movie without him ever identifying himself that way. when you give up a part of yourself for a righteous cause, losing his name so he can fully embody hanuman...yeah this movie is so good

When Clarke wakes, she is alone.

She reaches out and feels the dent in the bed where Bellamy once lay, the fabric cool to the touch. The ring on her finger is taunting her, a dismal reminder her that there is someone missing, and Clarke feels the absence like a phantom limb; there is a hole in her chest, an ache that she has never felt before, and she places her palm against her sternum as if that will ease the pain. Clarke does not do helpless well, but she feels completely off kilter, like a painting just slightly askew, without anyone to right her.

Bellamy is gone.

And she is alone.
