A flash of blue in the forest sent a gust of wind with it, shaking the leaves from the branches and making any animal who had gotten too comfortable scurry away for safety. At least they knew what was coming.
For anyone who didn’t though, it was made quite clear once the dust had gone. Standing in the center of a small crater in the woods was a boy. Not just any boy, though. One that the villages had assumed to finally be dead.
Laughter started, echoing through the trees and breaking the uncanny silence, and eventually became a deranged cackling, made even more terrifying by the distorted tone lying beneath it.
“Oh, it certainly feels good to be back!”.
