How do you guys feel about the genre of folk and/or anarcho-punk?
Both important and relevant in their own way. I'm sure the politically focused folk of the early and mid-60's paved the way for anarcho-punk.

Xtrmst was such a welcome surprise this year for music especially right after burials too. A great sound and perfectly striking vocals. - Does AFI / Blaqk Audio / Xtrmst have any plans to come to the UK/Europe soon? it's been over 5 years now!
It's heartbreaking not to have been able to come to Europe on Burials, it's the first time in the 16 years I've been in this band that we didn't go there on a touring cycle. Now I'm picturing us touring on one of those 4-seat tandem bicycles.

A new Blaqk Audio album will be happening next year, hopefully earlier rather than later.

How was your experience with Steve Aoki like a producer of this album? He challenged you? Thanks!
Steve and Dim Mak agreed to put the record out after it was already written and recorded, so he didn't have any input on the music, but his support and excitement for the album has been spectacular.

XTRMST's sound reminds me a little of the 1990's AFI sound, although obviously drastically different in its own ways. Looking at the directions your musics been exploring over the past few years (Crash Love, Burials and Bright Black Heaven) what got you guys to return to the Hardcore scene?
I don't think it's possible to return to the hardcore scene I was a part of. That time is past, so in making this record we weren't looking backward, just looking to create some songs that matched the emotion we were trying to convey.
