I made a self-help comic last year about affirmations. Here is another one. This time about stress.

I hope this helps some people the way it helped me.

After giving this same advice about affirmations to a few people in the past few months, I thought I would put this together in comic form.

I actually recorded myself saying my affirmations and I repeat them as I listen on my drive to work. For a while, I got out of the habit of doing it and I realized I was feeling really down on myself. I’ve made it a priority lately and it’s made me feel more upbeat and capable. :)

this headline along w the picture they used may make this seem like a silly story but in reality this is voter fraud.

lemme go more into how these high government officials are abusing voting rights and how it can potentially affect the outcome of the 2018 midterm elections. and by outcome i mean the conservative republicans winning the midterm elections. 

what jared did was back in 2009, barely into barack obama’s 1st term. so this particular story wouldn’t pertain to the outcome of next year’s midterm elections. however, I do think that it’s important we pay very close attention to how the government. is slowly restricting voting rights in today’s time. 

-back in May the trump administration proposed the “Election Integrity Commission”. the irony about this plan is that it targets black and latino voters for possible “voter fraud”.  when in reality, it’s trump supporting conservatives like jared kushner who is committing such acts. anyway, the plan ultimately gives the White House permission to view voter’ personal data. after this plan was established, many MINORITY non-trump supporting voters removed themselves from voting rolls as a whole. as someone who would be eligible to vote next year, this scares the hell out me. but this is just the beginning of it. 

-jeff sessions is heavily advocating against voter rights. In August of 2017, the department of justice has suggested it would be perfectly legal for certain states to purge voters off rolls just because they “skipped” an election. this would prevent a lot of people from voting in further elections, specifically the midterm elections. 

-Lousiana has already implemented a voting system that can allow majority-white electorates to reduce the value of black votes. Black residents in certain towns have claimed that have not been given the equal opportunity to vote for their judges. 

-before a major election, there are usually mail-in ballots to ensure voters have an opportunity to vote despite not being able to make it to a voting location. however, the state of Ohio has refrained from sending out those early votes in prominently black residents during the midterm elections 2014 and in the 2016 presidential election. 

-strict ID laws would require multiple forms of government ID to be shown in order to be eligible to vote. this can also potentially target black and latino voters for possible “voter fraud”. AKA another form of racially profiling. thousands of people in Wisconsin have already deferred from voting in 2016 because of this. 

overall, most a lot of minority voters consist of democrats. conservative republicans along with some members of the trump administration are taking baby steps when it comes the restriction of voting rights. once again, pay very close attention to how voting rights continue to be restricted within the next year. I know fall of 2018 seems like a long time, but it’s gonna creep on us and be here before we know it. however this shouldn’t discourage anyone from voting. we cannot have anymore gross, racist, misogynist, homophobic conservative men taking over this country. 

Hugh Hefner was a giant in publishing, journalism, free speech and civil rights. He was a true original and very progressive, and decades ahead of the rest of the U.S. He always hired African Americans at a competitive and fair wage. Hef insisted on interracial casting of his TV show, even when Southern stations threatened to boycott. Hef was the first.

Hefner long before he became sort of a doddering caricature was a STRONG voice for Civil rights and free speech issues. RIP Hugh.

Don’t even get me started on the shit with Dorothy Stratten. She was underage and was tricked and manipulated into doing photoshoots and those photos (as well as access to her body) was sold to Hefner and he molested her. Are y’all also going to forget how he has historically and to his fucking death treated the playmates? COUNTLESS women came forward talking about how they were wooed into becoming bunnies and getting into his house (and his clubs) only to find out that there were restrictions on every aspect of their lives (including their bodies and personal lives - no boyfriends, curfews, etc.) and they were coerced into sex with him, each other, and also (noted by Linda Lovelace as well as many playmates) dogs. He would keep 7 or more women in his house at a time that are completely at his disposal and that are completely reliant on him for their livelihood. If they left, where were they to go? He KNEW he had that kind of power and he abused it - much like MOST of the porn industry. This is not new. Women said they felt trapped and like they were fucking prisoners. He would pimp them out to his friends, give them qualudes, and generally treated them like shit. Holly Madison wrote an ENTIRE BOOK about the shit that went on in that house and no one listened, just like no one listened to the numerous women before her either - because Hef is ‘fun’, ‘sexy’, and ““““““progressive”“““““““““““““ and no one wants to critique something they enjoy even if it means someone is facing the consequences for it. These women are manipulated and used. Hefner would treat them with “respect and decency” until they were no longer of value - and value being either beautiful or profitable. And that’s just in the clubs.  This vile creature has been given credit for the “sexual revolution” and to be quite frank, what he sold was no where near that or else he would have sold pictures of men as well, would’ve had more than just busty, thin, young women, and generally wouldn’t have been as shitty. What he sold was a fantasy - a fantasy of women being objects that are for for his consumption (and men in general), usable, and disposable. When one gets old and tired, don’t worry, there’s a newer, younger, and more palatable woman that he can use for his profit. This man made MILLIONS off of this fantasy and women’s bodies. Do you think any of the playmates received even a FRACTION of what he earned?  I could honestly go on and on and on, so no, he was not “an ally”, he was not “ahead of his time”, he was a man who did things to protect his image and say “oh? how can you call me a bad man when I’ve done this and this???” Like no… donating a small fraction of the millions of dollars you make from exploitation and by saying “Hey! Gays are people too!” does not absolve him from everything he’s done.  Fuck that noise.
