“Don’t be, Max… it’s alright,” Capable shook her head with a small smile of reassurance, if slightly sad. As much as she wanted to comfort him as easily as she could the others, to hold him gently and let him relax for once and let all that tension he carried go, she needed to remember it was different with him. Much as she knew that he needed the support, it wasn’t going to be in the same way. She just needed to figure out what would be best for him, and still do some good.
It was very, very difficult for Max to let people get close to him physically, let alone emotionally. The one instance he decided to let people get close to him, they all died because of him and his lack of saving them like he should have. In the recesses of his mind, he knew that Capable just cared, and she cared deeply but he couldn’t bring himself to let her in.

Nux moved his arm around his Max’s shoulders so he could walk better without putting too much pressure on his foot. He reached by his side, feeling his gun there.
“Thanks.” He grunted. “I won’t be useless when we find them. They didn’t take my gun.” He also had a variety of tools in his pockets. That may or may not be useful.
Max knew that War Boys had a plethora of weapons on their person at all times, it was just something practiced within the group. Max also had a tendency to hide different weapons in his clothing, just in case.
“They won’t know what hit ‘em, mate.” Max said, nodding at the other as they continued their shuffle across the sand.

As a rper with ADHD, I find it hard to concentrate on three threads at a time and I either take a super long time to reply or completely drop them. So, I wanna thank those who are patience and kind when I get all out of focus and stuff. You guys are amazing.
