it's not graphic (and never, ever condemning) but always be careful with yourself

for the record, tho I disagree with several points in the beautiful tumblr post I link to (which may be almost double the words of mine!? what a legend) it's a reading which points clearly to the text; the schism comes from our different readings of the text and broader media dealing with suicide and/or mental illness and/or queer stories.

I love a good disagreement, I don't love a sloppy read, the latter of which comprised many of the professional media reviews of the series. The fact 'people 'experts' paid to do so were overall less good and thoughtful and thorough than random people on tumblr pouring hours of unpaid work into it is, ugh *cries in The State of the Industry*

Another point for why it’s important to own your own copies of music and media, and not use streaming services, is because the copy you own can’t be taken back.

(This is also a good time to remind people that yout*be to mp3 converters still exist).

please don't tell me you guys are ripping songs one at a time for the quality and getting mp3 -_- here's what you should actually do:

1. sign up for a free deezer account 2. download python if you don't already have it 3. download deemix-pyweb for your os (r/deemix will have the link if this one breaks) 4. extract the zip, click on deemix-pyweb.exe, login in w/ your deezer arl in settings (it'll tell you how, it's very easy)

ta-da! now you can download multiple songs, albums, playlists, and entire artist catalogs at the same time! in mp3 or flac quality! all organized w/ album covers & info & everything else!

also, you can convert any spotify playlists you have to deezer ones using soundiiz, or thru deemix itself. enjoy! 🎵

if you're not from the us american south, there's some amazing nuances to this you may have missed. i can't really describe all of them, because i've lived here my whole life and a lot of the body language is sort of a native tongue thing. the body language is its own language, and i am not so great at teaching language. i do know i instinctively sucked on my lower teeth at the same time as he did, and when he scratched the side of his face, i was ready to take up fucking arms with him.

but y'all. the way he said "brutus is an honourable man" - each and every time it changed just a little. it was the full condemnation Shakespeare wanted it to be. it started off slightly mock sincere. barely trying to cover the sarcasm. by the end...it wasn't a threat, it was a promise.

christ, he's good.

the eliding of “you all” to “y’all” while still maintaining 2 syllables is a deliberate and brilliant act of violence. “bear with me” said exactly like i’ve heard it at every funeral. the choices of breaking and re-establishing of eye contact. the balance of rehearsed and improvised tone. A+++ get this man a hollywood contract.
