The thing about the eras though is that they are different Taylors at different periods of her life. That's part of the reason why she seems like a different person through each era. Rep Taylor isn't the same person as Fearless Taylor or Speak Now Taylor or even the previous 1989 Taylor. People (and celebrities count) change and that's sort of what happened from Taylor Swift - Reputation. Kind of like a snake shedding its skin because its grown. (Clever, right?)

It's also because different albums go through different themes either sonically or thematically or both and she plays into that persona because it's fitting at the time and it's the main facet of her character for that album. But that's all it is, a facet of her character. She's not a one dimensional person (and I'm pretty sure no one is) and it's whatever she's willing to share with us at the time. I've always felt that she's been a rather private person at times. She's friendly and sweet during interviews, but I find that she prefers to keep her personal life away from the media especially after all of the overblown criticism of her girl group/"cult" during the 1989 Era among other things. So it's pretty difficult to even say she has this badass act going on during Rep because we see her even less (no interviews, no award shows as far as I know of, rare public appearances now), so all we have to go on is her album but like. Rep is also a complex album with really hard, don't mess with me sings like LWYMMD and Ready For It but also really sweet and raw songs like Gorgeous and CIWYW.

It's too much and too unrealistic to expect a person to stay static. And it's a lot to ask someone (especially someone who gets attacked for pretty much everything she does) to reveal their true selves to the world. I think Taylor's doing the best she can telling the world who she is through her music and we'll just take from it what we can (like those rly sick beats yo).

look you guys THINK Speak Now is overrated lmao you think it is the truth is the only people who ever list Speak Now as their favorite are people within the deep fandom. Speak Now was all things considered her least popular time - which is weird to say considering it was the first time she sold 1mill - but literally Speak Now is SLEPT on in the mainstream lmao. and it really is a fucking shame that because it didn’t have any crazy successful singles like WANEGBT or Shake It Off it never really got the recognition it deserved!? honestly Speak Now was fucking ahead of its time Speak Now is the album that artists typically release when they’re already in their 30’s and they don’t care about the popularity or the money anymore they just wanna make amazing music and could give a fuck if it gets popular or not and Taylor was like nah…I’m doing this now at age 20 I am coming for you hoes LIKE! like ENTIRELY written by herself with no co-writers to get ppl talking…just her…the number of songs over four minutes on that album so no fuckin radio play holy SHIT…RADIO FRIENDLY?!?! WHO FUCKING CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE WASN’T SHORTENING HER DAMN SONGS THANK YOU GOD!!…the SONG-WRITING…how whether or not the songs were ‘catchy’ was like the last fuckin thing anyone gave a shit about I cannot believe I was blessed w/ this album so early in my life so I can have it forever I am…..HONESTLY!!
