OK, so I was inspired and now I wanna start a bigger conversation and I wanna know: fic writers, comic makers, au creators, etc. how do you do it? How do you go from plot bunny or story idea to completed chapters/story/comic update? What's your process? What programs do you use? Do you draft stuff? Outline? Storyboard? Do you chart or sketch? How do you settle on characters and characterizations? How do you plot (or do you)? I wanna know all the nitty gritty details. It's just so interesting because everyone does it so differently.

Writer: when the ADHD lets me. Like that’s kind of a cop-out answer but it’s also true. If that’s where my brain sees a chance for dopamine that’s where it’s gonna get it, and it becomes a hyperfocus.

One-shots, which are mostly what I write, are just opening a vein and letting words come out and then going back and cleaning them up.

Longfics I do tend to write rough outlines so it I’m stuck I can remember what I am working towards, but I still follow a lot of rabbit trails and the outlines will get changed if necessary as the characters make different decisions.

And our burdens were much lighter when we carried them together.

I really want a zelink montage like the beginning of Up, set in between BotW and TotK. Just domestic life in Hateno, building the school, growing their little garden, going around Hyrule and working on reconstruction.

Music starts to get sad when the gloom starts to emerge. Then it gets adventurous again while they are planning to go investigate. And then it gets sad again when Zelda falls, and has the slow, sad fade out when Link wakes up alone.

I have no animation experience, so I'm just throwing this into the universe so other people can torture themselves with this beautiful image anytime you hear that song as well.

Now, this isn't exactly what you're thinking of but BEHOLD

in my personal verse, the first time link has cried in front of zelda is the night they must have spent at lookout landing just after defeating ganondorf. because something had broken inside of link when he had found out what had happened to zelda, but he had never let it out. now they are lying together, after he thought it would never be possible again and the pain he had bottled up erupts. zelda holds him close and lets him cry against her.
