Two fair men lie in water warm and slow,
As brothers are they joinēd heart to heart;
But Cupid hath not struck them with his bow;
Lest that be thought, they sit five feet apart.
Fuck you

okay so these fuckers are the worst cookies they literally drive me insane
because as you may know the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting a different result
like when you see these things
you know they’re awful and tasteless but you love how they have a nice texture but they always taste dry and never sweet enough and never satisfying
so you look at these shitty cookies and think “no, I’m going to eat one. maybe this time it’ll be different. maybe it will at least be satisfyingly sweet as a cookie should be”
but every time you just get a mouthful of flour and far too much of that nasty ass frosting
but you keep coming back because someday you hope that these cookies will be as good as you hope they could be
but they never are and you spiral into the lofthouse cookie madness and find yourself nearly gagging on these shitty flavorless cookies every single time a box is set out in front of you
i would have died thinking i was alone thinking a lot of things if i didn’t join tumblr

When you hit your elbow against something, but that specific point of your elbow
it’s…called your funny bone…
that gif tho
It’s not a bone actually- it’s a nerve that is exposed, specifically the ulnar nerve. The reason it feels so weird to hit it is that it’s not designed to deliver pain signals, so when you hit it it just wiggs out and sends Garbage signals to the brain, and the brain is just like “uh, dude- Ulnar, what the hell is this garbage?? You’re supposed to curl a finger and a half, and move some muscles in the forearm, why are you sending me this crap? How am I supposed to make this into sensory output?” And the Ulnar nerve is just like “dude dude dude, brain- what the hell is going on?!?” And the brain goes- “idiot. Fine. You’re on fire, freezing and being electrocuted. Happy?” And the Ulnar goes “holy crap brain!! I’m on fire, freezing and being electrocuted! What am I going to do!!??!” And the brain says “you’re an idiot ulnar. A damn idiot.”
This is how human anatomy should be taught
I need to talk about this scene because it’s so different from the typical way pep talks go.
Moana has just suffered a tremendous defeat and been abandoned by Maui, her demi-god ally. She’s understandably upset- the heart of Te Fiti has to be restored or decay will consume her island. And yet she’s just one teenage girl on a damaged canoe- how is she supposed to face down Te Ka, actual vengeful Lava monster?
Her fairy godmother grandmother’s spirit doesn’t come in with a magical fix, insist her doubts are baseless and/or bluster that she should just get on with the impossible. She comforts her and tells her it was too big a task to expect of her (all true!) and then tells her it’s okay to give up, that she will be there with unconditional support to help her go home, no guilt or shame.
THIS. NEVER. HAPPENS. IN. STORIES.
And it should. “Encouragement” is so often a lot like bullying in narratives, even towards characters that are children. “I know you have it in you (even though you were just soundly beaten)! Now get back out there (even though you’re miserable)!”
Instead, Gramma waits until Moana herself realizes that she’s not ready to give up, through self reflection. She wasn’t there to insist that Moana “suck it up”, but simply to “remind [her] that come what may, [she] know[s] the way”.
That is awesome.
