涼 宮 ハ ル ヒ

@haruhisuzumiyachan / haruhisuzumiyachan.tumblr.com

Personality Haruhi is a bright, energetic and athletic high-school student. Many male students consider her attractive. She alternates between melancholy and incredible optimism, often unpredictably. Haruhi is indeed stubborn and one who doesn’t like to admit her mistakes, usually blaming other people. Also, she gets angry very easily, being an irascible and impulsive person. Her behavior was considered eccentric, and she had little interest in her classmates, at least until a certain one named Kyon "convinced" her to form the SOS Brigade. Afterward, she became more mentally stable and gradually connected with schoolmates in club activities. Powers
Haruhi has the ability to create reality (or “data”), but the power is unconscious and she is unaware of it. Just by thinking, she can alter reality. Sometimes this manifests as the ability to make something of her desires truly exist, such as closing off a remote island with fog (to enhance the atmosphere of a murder mystery). When she is overjoyed, her abilities have changed the weather, made animals speak and even changed the orbit of the Earth.
Closed Space: When her emotions become unstable, she subconsciously creates closed space and celestials which begin to take over the world, destroying things. Koizumi said that the system was born of “common sense”; Haruhi encloses the celestials in closed space to prevent destruction in the “real world”. Creating Alternate Realities: Haruhi has the ability to split and recombine reality into two alternate parallels. She even created a time loop to experience the same day over and over without it being apparent to anyone else, including herself.

Haruhi couldn’t believe what she was seeing. A girl with a plant seemingly growing out of her head and an overall ethereal air to their appearance. Her mouth opened slightly to speak, but her voice caught in her throat. She had so many questions, but none of them seemed like the right one to ask. Almost as if she only had one question before the girl disappeared. Finally she settled on one that was far less extravagant that she intended, “Who are you?”

Haruhi threw herself onto her well-endowed brigade maid with a smile that could only spell trouble. “We’ve got a big job to do today Mikuru! Now get undressed, we need you in something revealing for it to work!”

Her hands got to work on the buttons of the maid uniform as the boys scrambled to escape the room in record time. Pleas could be heard from within the room, but no one would come to save the poor soul who was the club’s esteemed dress-up doll. In a flash the new costume was donned and Haruhi couldn’t have been more proud. “It’s perfect!!” she exclaimed. Her teary-eyed friend sported a skimpy grunge rock outfit that hugged her curves in all the right places. Surely this would garner some attention during flyer handouts this year.

The brunette looked the boy up and down with a raised eyebrow. He certainly wasn’t from any of the surrounding schools, especially one that had a uniform that was mainly green. He had been starring back her as well, and she didn’t like the vibe he gave her. With a hand on her hip she called out to him, “Hey, do you have a problem? If you have something to say, then say it.”

Despite Yuki always being the first to arrive at club, Itsuki tended to be the runner up in terms of attendence. This punctuality was something Haruhi admired, and was one of the many reasons that she gave him the Deputy title without an hesitance. With that being said, she had been mulling over an idea for a week and she was desperate to get some feedback. Itsuki was always reasonable, and honest with his viewpoints. Mikuru was too nervous, Yuki agreed with everything, and Kyon only knew how to complain.

As he took his seat, she set her hands on the table and leaned forward with excitement her very demeanor. Haruhi didn’t even give him a moment to ask what she wanted and led right into her pitch.

“I have been thinking about doing another movie for the festival this year,” She began, “But I wanted to run a few ideas by you first. It might be hard to pull off, but I want to make use of the rising trend of virtual singers. It could help grow a larger audience if we can do it right! Mikuru would be endowed with the task to defeat the mighty witch who is trying to take over the world thorugh song. It could lead up to a big battle with music and singing! What do you think?!”

Without so much as a warning, a tug of his tie brought him stumbling forward. Haruhi was never one for subtlety. Even when other students in the hall were gaping at the closeness of their faces in plain sight. She could care less about formalities or personal space. Not when she was filled to the brim with excitement at her most recent discovery! “We’ve got another case to work on after class! I know you’re on cleaning duty, but you need get to club the moment you finish, got it?” She paused for a moment, but not enough to let him reply. “Good, you better be prompt or you’ll get a heavy punishment!” With that, she let the makeshift noose go and ran off to who knows where. It was certainly a change of pace to the quiet days the club had lately. That meant her boredom was at its peak. Just what were they all in for this time?

A new student was joining the class on this blistery fall morning. She seemed average at first glance. Average height, long brown hair, a scowl that most teenagers wore this early in the day. It was a new semester and introductions were under way. Most were unenthusiastic, and hers was to follow Ishigami-san’s due to her seat being right behind his. She rose from her seat with certain grace, but that was shattered quickly upon her mouth opening. “My name is Haruhi Suzumiya. I am not interested in normal people. If you are involved with sliders, espers, or aliens, please come and see me. That is all.” Haruhi took her seat without faltering in her confidence. How someone could make such a statement at the prestigious Shuchi'in Academy was unheard of. Too many people held onto their image and reputation to draw attention to themselves like she did. It was clear that she was serious from the look in her eyes as she scanned the room for any sign of interest. Haruhi eventually met Yu’s gaze and her expression faded to disappointment. With homeroom starting, she laid her chin into her hand and stared out the window. It was going to be another boring school year for sure.

It came as shock when a text came through that Yuki      wouldn’t be attending club that afternoon. Despite being      the leader of the club, Haruhi was aware of the rock that      held the whole thing together. Without the bookworm’s      help in securing a room, the SOS Brigade would have      never happened. It was an unspoken thing, but she owed      the lavender haired girl a great deal.           Plus, was odd for her to ever get sick too. The maternal       instincts that Haruhi carried within took over and she      announced that club was canceled before school let out.      She then harassed Kyon for Yuki’s address, since he      returned a book to her once. He tried to reassure her that      it was a common cold, and it was nothing to worry about it,      but Haruhi ignored him. That very well could have been the      case in the end. But felt wrong to not at least check on her      at least. What kind of leader would she be if she didn’t look      out for her underlings? A lousy one, that’s for sure.           The moment the bell let the student free, Haruhi was      making long strides out the door. She was familiar with the      area Yuki lived in, as a couple students lived in the same      complex. It didn’t take her long to arrive at the front doors.      Her finger lingered on the buzzer to make sure Yuki heard      it through even the deepest of sleeps.

The intercom clicked on, but there was silence on the      other end. There was only one person who could have been      home who would respond in that manner. Haruhi leaned in      and announced herself.

“Yuki?” she called out.                             “ It’s me, Haruhi. Can I come in?                                    I wanted to make you some                                    porridge for dinner. If that’s alright.

With her mission in place, Haruhi got to work on the food. Porridge was always simple to make. Even with the sparse ingredients around, she made do. It was going to be more bland than she liked, but she knew Yuki wouldn’t complain in her state... Every so often she threw a glance over her shoulder to see how her friend was doing. At one point she noticed a wince from something painful. Before plating the soup, she made a mental note to see if there was any medicine to help with her condition. “Alright, it is cooled enough for you to eat!” Haruhi stated gleefully as she knelt next to her friend. “Did you need any help sitting up?”

It wasn't often that the Brigade's bookworm spoke, but when she did, the words were always chosen carefully. Haruhi knew that her friend only gave her opinion when she truly cared about something. Considering it was her own safety, it sent a chill up Haruhi's spine. "Don't worry, I'll be careful!" she replied with a forced grin. It was just another afternoon of returning home after club. And yet, Yuki was worried for some reason. She made sure to keep an eye on her surroundings as she followed her route home...

Her heart clenched at the way Yuki clung to her. Her friend lived alone, and potentially away from any family. Especially since she never mentioned anyone coming to visit. It was beyond heartbreaking knowing she only had her friends to rely on. But, even now, she was trying to handle it all by herself.

Haruhi’s grip tightened slightly around the girl’s small frame. It was only right to stay by her side until she got better after seeing her in such a state. Club wasn’t important right now, and yet, her friend was trying so hard to show Haruhi that it was also important to her too. With a soft exhale, Haruhi made a decision. If Yuki was going to keep her word about attending club, she was going to need help!

I’ll make sure that you recover in time, Yuki. Let’s get you comfortable for now,” She shifts her friend’s weight and gets her to a standing state. From there she guides her to the kotatsu in the center of the room. Once Yuki was situated, Haruhi looked over to the small kitchenette with an budding idea. “Hey, do you any rice here? I can make you that porridge to help with your strength!”

Haruhi looks over her shoulder as the crossing lights turn green,

"I'll...be careful. If this means proving all the things I have dreamed of, I can't risk letting the opportunity go. I will do my best to come back without incident. I can't promise nothing will happen to me, but I can assure I won't be stupid about this."

“Oi, girl, the autograph signing is over.” It’s fairly obvious she’s approaching to talk to him, he’s sitting fairly isolated, up on a ledge, with a mask and hat on so at least the less astute of his fans will leave him the hell alone.

“Whatever it is you want, I don’t care.” Probably to coo over how cute he is, he imagines. “Shoo.”

Ken waves her away like one would a stray dog, nevermind that he’s at least four years younger than her.

Haruhi’s mouth fell open slightly at his response before closing it with clenched teeth. This kid really had no manners, and yet she could feel a tinge of pain behind his malice.

Geez, that’s what’s got you in a sour mood? Telling someone a simple no fixes most of these situations. If she was helping out a friend, then your anger is already misplaced! It’s very clear that you are going out of your way to be excessively aggressive aside from of a few attempted love letter deliveries.

She pauses and imparts her own advice on the matter,

Love is irrational and stupid. I won’t pretend to be interested in that kind of social contract, but I know not to be totally vicious. Blunt, maybe, but I don’t say more than I need to. You should consider taking a less hostile approach to the world. Maybe then, you’d get a little kindness back.”
