Molly Parker as Maureen Robinson

Biro sketch then Procreate.

I took this further on ArtRage a month ago and it was *not* working. I went back to the original sketch and worked up a monotone then added splashes of colour. I used an old Deadwood cap because the lighting was so pretty.

Tea Gown

1885-1889

This tea gown is an example of the re-use of a garment previously considered a fashionable essential. From the end of the 1700s through the 1860s, the large shawl was an essential and luxurious accessory. They were imported first from Kashmir, and then produced in European weaving centers, especially Paisley, Scotland. Once fashionable skirts narrowed in the 1870s, the dolman and the overcoat replaced shawls as outerwear.

“Is that so?”

“Yes - the first event of a series. I intend on riding again.”

Oh, how riding invigorated the doctor. It was either the uncertainty of outcome or perhaps the chance to honor a promise that was made that urged her to submit her name and horse into the races. She quickly donned her gear and made haste to the hills of Redridge to participate in the race.

The results that came of the event quietly instilled a pride within the doctor’s eye. Harsh words and ill intent of her recent engagement washed aside as she sat among her peers. In her eyes, they knew nothing of her history - and perhaps that was for the best. She sought not their understanding, only compliance.

Yet across the hillside, facing the bridge and roads that led into the lands of the Duchy, stood a figure facing the others. It loomed as a mere shadow across the evening light and perhaps was overlooked. Although the sight the figure perceived was rather dark and vengeful, it soon turned away to march back towards the direction of the encampment.
