“I can do it!” she insisted, climbing over the windshield to get to the highest vantage point on the roof. “Just gotta get high.”

“Have you ever done this before? Maybe we should start lower. Like a couch.”

“No! It has to be high! A couch isn’t high enough,” she called down, heels at the edge of the passenger’s side of the roof to get a kind of running start.

“Junior, Junior watch! I’m gonna fly like you!” Jess called, starting to climb on top of the car.

“Kiddo…be careful…” Junior moved over just in case. Nathan had tried this once and broke his leg. And he wasn’t answering that to Aunt Jasmine again

“I can do it!” she insisted, climbing over the windshield to get to the highest vantage point on the roof. “Just gotta get high.”

Junior is the oldest of the Gracelings. He only has Nathan beat by about 6 months though

Jess closed her books and turned to her mom with a smile. Which turned a little awkward as she realized where this conversation was heading.

“Is this going where I think it’s going? I mean, there’s the internet, Mom.”

“Yes there is the internet and it’s a very useful tool for information.” Jasmine chuckled softly, wrapping her arm around her shoulders. “And yes I’m sure this is going where you think it’s going. But it’s important.”

Jess sighed and leaned into her mom’s half hug with a slight groan. “Okay, lay on the dirty details.” The way she says it is a reminder that she is her father’s daughter.
