Vanity Projects is very pleased to present "Missed Connections," an open participation, blind collaboration tape of exquisite corpse audio. Available now! All cassette purchases come with an immediate digital download.

The audio on this cassette began as a component of the exquisite corpse workshops hosted by Walt Gorecki and Sean Solomon for their 2010 exhibition, Picture Con Secuencia. Participants were culled from the vast and talented community surrounding Echo Curio, the Los Angeles arts and music space where the exhibition and workshops were held.

Each participant received 10 seconds of audio from the previous participant, incorporating it within their own segment in a manner of their choosing. Participants worked blindly, with no knowledge of who preceded or would follow them, or what style of music might coalesce as a result.

Shortly following this exhibition, Echo Curio - operated by Grant Capes and Justin McInteer - was forced to shut its doors after a nearly five year run as an open participation gallery and performance venue. However, the project continued in virtual space and kept incorporating members of the community surrounding the space. It is now being released at Echo Chamber, an experimental workshop space housed within the doors of the former Echo Curio.

Crown Plaza is the new side project of So Many Wizards' frontman Nima Kazerouni.  After ending his relationship with his sweetheart of 6 years, he left his cozy apartment in the middle of LA and took an unusual  residence at his father's back office in the heart of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) -- where he was free to record and write music as he pleased.  Yet he didn't realize what a strong effect his surroundings would have on him. The bright hotel light of Crowne Plaza was a 24 hour-a-day reminder of where he was, along with the buzzing noises of airplanes, shuttles, and passers by.  These ultimately caused a reaction that was too great to keep inside.  Nima needed an outlet to channel these feelings directly, and he needed to do it alone. His debut E.P., Chem Waves Volume 1, is a direct reflection of his love loss, displacement, and overall new way of living.
