I have seen so so many people ready to condemn the UK for racism, bigotry and xenophobia because of the BREXIT result, and yes this was a campaign fought - and won - primarily through fear, misinformation, and racism but please please remember:
48% of the UK - and half the constituent regions as a whole (Scotland and Northern Ireland) - didn’t want this, didn’t vote for this, and do not deserve to be labelled as closet racists.

and as I’m already seeing the “oh my god England why would you do this” posts from non-Brits, please know these things before you start being judgey:
- Vote Leave won by a majority of 2%, and fewer than a million votes could have swung it the other way
- Over 70% of young people wanted to remain, as opposed to 60% of older voters wanting to leave
- The Tory government were elected with the support of only 24% of eligible voters in 2015
our government is, in all honesty, a shambles
give tumblr’s demographics, chances are your British followers reading your posts are not the ones who voted leave, and we are watching our economy and future prospects crash around us
please don’t be arseholes about it and mock the decisions that we did not make

Inspired by all the genuinely lovely scenic gifsets the Hobbit & LOTR fandom can’t seem to stop making (don’t ever stop) + the Party Dad Thranduil meme. Because after considering what goblin tumblr would be like, I started thinking about who else in Middle Earth would have a tumblr, and of course Party Dad would be all over that.
He’d wait until he had most of Middle Earth following him before posting a gifset like this, and then he’d just dance dance dance in the firelight of their inflamed responses, the furious smash of a thousand fingers typing out “FUCK YOU 10EVER" being the best beats of all.
