Feel free to drag me for this, but I *am* right, so you’re not going to change my mind...and I am a fan fiction writer myself.

If you write fic about REAL PEOPLE and post it online PUBLICLY, they don’t have to get your permission to read it on their videos. Period. They are the reason you wrote it, it is about them, and you posted it where anybody could find it. If you didn’t want it to be readily available to be read by anyone who could find it, you shouldn’t have posted it. They gave you credit without using your actual name. They didn’t even have to do that, but they appreciate the work you put into it even if they don’t get it. And they did not encourage anyone to target or bully the writers.

In other words, if you’re complaining about it, get over yourself. They were nicer and more respectful than they ever had to be.

Maybe unpopular, but:

The idea that RandL should have gotten permission before reading free, publicly available content about themselves is... a little bit wild.

They are supportive of the shipping community and have been for many years. Putting fanfic out into the world about real people means those real people have a chance of seeing it.

Something about the word permission just rubs me the super wrong way. It feels like an unfair expectation that’s certainly not reciprocated- no one was asking permission to write the fic, so why do they need permission to read it?

Nothing about the episode made fun of the people reading or writing, or passed judgement on them for doing so.

Anyway. I love fic. I love writers. I love RandL. I love Rhink.

what prision should be 4:

  • rapists
  • pedophiles
  • murderers
  • abusers

what prision shouldn’t be 4:

  • non-violent drug dealers
  • drug addicts (who need help + support, not prison time)
  • protesters/activists
  • poc who get arrested 4 doing things white people would never get arrested 4 doing
  • rape/incest/abuse/etc victims who kill their attackers (self defense)
  • homeless people who are just chilling + not doing anything illegal (like a homeless person is just sleeping + the cops arrest them 4 some dumb reason)
  • a lot of people, actually (ex. people who steal like a single apple bc they’re starving, people who take animals from abusive owners, squatters, undocumented immigrants with no/minor criminal records, prostitutes + sex workers, poor people, the mentally ill, etc)

The fact that this post is controversial on tungle dot hellsite says a lot about the site’s political environment.

!!!IMPORTANT FOR BLACK US VOTERS!!!

I saw this on Facebook and went to check my registration status, sure it was fine because I voted recently, but I put in the info and it said I’m not registered

PLEASE, especially if you’re a Black voter, check your registration status at vote.org

Know your status

Does your last name sound anything like Lopez, Martinez, or Rodriguez? Mine does. When I saw this post I checked my voter registration status online with my state. Despite registering just three months ago, I was no longer registered to vote, and I did not receive my ballot. If you live in a mail-in voting state and you didn’t get your ballot, contact your county election official/county clerk for a replacement.

Make sure you check with your state’s voting site as well. I just had the shit scared out of me because that website said I was registered, but when I checked my state’s site (and made sure I had the right county selected) it said I was registered.

It’s worth checking your state’s site every few months anyway (especially when any election is coming up).

Texas is definitely purging voters. They’re also making it harder to re-register if they purged you. I hate that this is true, but POC will need to check and check frequently to stay registered in Texas.

College students, too. In the 2014 election, I had to vote in San Marcos, and I can’t tell you how many Texas State students were turned away because they didn’t cross all the t’s and dot all the i’s on getting their registration transferred and current.

IMPORTANT Y’ALL.

Republicans are openly saying they are trying to restrict voting, and you can be damn sure the people they want to suppress are poc. So make sure you and you’re family are registered, esp if you live in a red state with republican controlled state houses.

Reblog this over and over again, until everyone who has been suppressed by the GOP sees it.
